In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Francesca Rainieri

Reconocida como una gran emprendedora y trabajadora incansable de la industria turística. Junto a su familia, ha sido promotora del principal destino turístico del país: Punta Cana. Inició su vida laboral como Consultora de Negocios con la firma internacional Villa Del Corral. En el año 2001, la Sra. Rainieri se integra al Grupo Puntacana como Gerente de Planificación Estratégica y luego pasó a ser Directora de Hospitalidad en el 2004. Desde entonces, ha ido creciendo dentro del grupo y ganando terreno a través de diferentes posiciones hasta llegar a la Vicepresidencia Administrativa de nuestro Grupo. Obtuvo su Licenciatura en Ciencias con doble titulación en Finanzas y Emprendimiento y con una especialidad en Economía de Babson College, Estados Unidos. Entre sus méritos se destaca su valiosa contribución a la organización de las diferentes unidades de negocio de Grupo Puntacana y el proyecto de implementación de SAP en los procesos administrativos de información empresarial. Ha impartido charlas en escuelas y universidades, entre las que se destaca una charla impartida en el año 2016, titulada Impacto Económico de la Industria Turística Dominicana para estudiantes de la Universidad de Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), que se enfocó en la creación de un destino turístico, tomando como modelo al Grupo Puntacana. Actualmente es miembro del Consejo de Directores de la Cámara Americana de Comercio, (AMCHAM) y asesora del Puntacana International School (PCIS).

Janet Jones

first professional job was with NBA as a Miami Heat Dancer for two seasons before moving to Los Angeles to train in commercial styles of dance, Hip-Hop & Jazz Funk. She began assisting celebrity choreographer Darrin Henson (who choreographed for Britney Spears, N’Sync, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez), where she learned about creative direction, staging, production, and the music entertainment business. She’s worked for networks like MTV, BET, HBO, Showtime, Univision, Telemundo and labels like Sony, Motown, and Bad Boy and performed in the MTV Video Music Awards, American Music Awards, Hip-Hop Source Awards, Vibe Awards, and the Latin Billboards, Latin Grammys, Premios Lo Nuestro & Premios Juventud. She assisted celebrity choreographer & mentor Glenn Douglas Packard (Michael Jackson, Usher, NSYNC, Mya, Pink, & Brian Mcknight), where she learned creative direction and artist development. Realizing the lack of representation in South Florida, Janet opened Jones Talent Agency for the representation artists in Miami to facilitate networks and labels in the placement talent in commercials & TV episodes, film, live stage, and tours. Her agency worked on projects like Shakira’s “Oral Fixation” Tour & “Pure Intuition” video. Ricky Martin’s “Black & White Tour”, Beyonce’s “The Beyonce Experience Tour”, Daddy Yankee’s “The Cartel” tour & videos, Madonna’s “Confessions” tour, Chayanne’s “Mi Tiempo” Tour, Ashanti’s Promo Tour, HBO specials, Step It Up 1& 2, Bring It On 4, commercials for Apple’s iPod, Best Buy, Subway, Heineken, Miller Light, Kenneth Cole, Zales, McDonalds, Burger King, Bell South, Citgo, and stage projects like the Latin Grammys, Premios Lo Nuestro, Premios Juventud and others. In 2013 she founded VIXEN WORKOUT a dance fitness format for women inspired by the movement seen in commercial dance that provides a visceral opportunity for participants to experience performing. It has had over 150,000 participants and has over 350 certified instructors in 8 countries. Janet Jones has been featured in the New York Times, ABC’s Nightline, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Vogue, among other publications.

Jessica Lozano-Schmitt

Jessica is a 19-year-old German-Spanish Social Entrepreneur, NGO Founding Member, and business student at the time of this recording. She was raised in the hospitality industry, which led to her having lived in four continents, eleven countries, speaking four languages fluently, and understanding seven. After graduating from her joint Bachelor in Business Administration with in Finance and Master in Business Analytics Program, she hopes to become a successful businesswoman in the areas of Consulting and Venture Capital. Additionally, she is actively working on reducing the gender gap within STEM through her work with MakerGirl Foundation. There she is the volunteering Director of the Harvard & MIT MakerGirl Academy, where they host 3D Printing workshops for young girls (ages 7-12) aiming to spark their interest in STEM.
