Rima Rahmani

Young Tunisian Climate Activist
I’m Rima Rahmani, a 17-year-old climate activist and I study in Pioneer High School of Kairouan. I co-founded a climate justice movement called Youth for Climate Tunisia, which is a branch of the global movement for climate. I am the organizer of multiple strikes for climate in my region and also in the capital where I try to work along side my movement to mobilize people for climate justice. I started on being a climate activist in 2019 when I found out that the climate change has become a crisis and not just a small environmental issue. I feel like our future is being stolen from us by the previous generations and the greedy governments who prefer money and profit over clean air to breath. Also, because I’m studying for a future that may not exist and all of my efforts and dreams are being taken away from me and I would never let that happen, because I simply want to live.

Saadia Mosbeh

It also welcomes, a few months later, that Tunisia proclaimed January 23 as the national day for the abolition of slavery. However, in 2020, if she reports that the silence has been broken and that two court cases have resulted in judgments.
