TEDxAsata will bring together under one roof thought leaders, policy wonk, researchers, and ordinary citizens as they discuss the future of the community, it boundless opportunities, technology, education, entertainment, fashion and placing it on the global map of livable cities in the world.

Agbalanze Ebube

Social Entrepreneur
Agbalanze Bube is the Founder and Chairman, Rubies of Care and Compassion Africa (ROCC Africa). ROCC Africa is a registered non profit in Enugu that rescues Street Children and send them to school and rescue for Abandoned old people and empowerment for Widows and struggling families. Over the past few years, we at ROCC Africa have been able to rescue and send to school over 500 Street Children and rescue for over 1000 abandoned old people in remote villages in Enugu. Some have started businesses for Widows and built farms for disabled young people.

Ekene is rounding off Social Media in Public Relations from National University of Singapore but have extensive social media marketing and communications experience and a record of excellent written and oral communication. He is skilled in creating content materials for outreach, promotion, and marketing using Facebook, Instagram, and other social media venues. In 2018, he managed Young Africa’s Leaders Initiative (YALI) Food Fest Campaign and in three days 100,320 accounts were reached on twitter and 208,295 impressions made. He was also able to move to bring 75% of the person that engaged with the Ad to the event, all the vendors sold out. He is very Keen to identify targets and implement communicative strategy to market and increase brand visibility, engage audience and sustain client’s businesses through multidisciplinary human design approach around business and developmental content and operations strategies.

Honey Ojukwu

On-Air Personality/Public Speaking Consultant
Honey as she is often called began her broadcasting career in 2014 and worked with Gouniradio for three years, moved to HitFM Calabar. In 2017, she moved back to Enugu after her National Youth Service and got her first official Gig job with Urban Radio 94.5fm Enugu as Lead anchor of the show “UrbanFuse”. And since then, she has worked on various projects such as The Face of Xymoments, and cohost a TV Show called “The Amazing Show”. Honey also serves as an Event & Red Carpet Host and she is currently working with Cool FM Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Ojukwu also owns a company called Real Honey Media.

Jay Speaks

Justice Alili is a super talented and passionate spoken word artist whose undying love for the art has gained him so much recognition in the field of poetry. He is the current winner of the international spoken word competition hosted by Hotwordz lyrical theatre, USA in 2018 and the current slam champion in the just concluded PGK spoken word competition 2019, hosted by the Priority Tv and Radio company in Lagos where he was awarded 350 thousand naira as the prize money. He is also the 1st runner up of the maiden edition of The People’s Hero talent competition 2019 organized by Hero lager beer which was aired on various tv stations across Africa such as MTVBase, NTA, AIT and a host of others and went home with a whooping sum of 2million naira. Justice is a final year student studying law at the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus where he is still vying to attain his LL.B degree at the highest level and is currently holding the mantle of the most talented law student in his faculty. Justice has performed on various platforms and conferences across Nigeria and holds the strong opinion that poetry is a free license to speak the truth and could serve a viable tool to impact change in the society and the world at large.

Udo Jude Ilo is the Country Officer and Head of Nigeria Office of the Open Society Initiative for West Africa. Before joining OSIWA Udo worked as a Country Manager for the Forum of Federations- a network for promoting federal practices across the globe with presence in six continents. In the last 12 years, Udo has worked as a change agent- engaging government on issues related to elections, human rights and good governance and working with citizens to promote knowledge and enhance their capacity to demand reforms. Nancy has been a school administrator in four reputable schools across the geopolitical zones in Nigeria. On her last job which ended on 1 st October, 2019, Nancy led a team of over a hundred employees in a school managed by a multinational corporation where she reported to the Board. She coaches individuals to embrace a new version of themselves and live life more meaningfully. Siza Amah

During the TEDxAsata, Siza performed a Shakespearean monologue drama which wowed our audience. Siza Emmanuel Amah is a wordsmith and an unconventional poet. On some rare occasions he savor listeners with a magical spoken word performance titled; “The World I found Myself.” Some other time, he is seen displaying his magical monologue that steals show whenever he performs. Siza exudes creativity and he is one of the amazing poets to watch in the ever-evolving creative industry in the Nigeria. In most of his performances, Siza Amah display a pastiche of art and entertainment. He has performed on same stage with Dike Chukwumereije, a renowned poet in the country in his “Poetry night” in Abuja, another is him performing to a crowd of over 10k people.

Valentine Ozoigbo

Dr. Val hails from Ihiala in Anambra State but grew up in Enugu city. His Primary education was at Zik Avenue Primary school from there to CIC Enugu for Secondary school then to College of Medicine, UNEC, Enugu for Medical school. His housemanship was in PH and NYSC in Lagos. After that, he went to USA where he did a Residency in Family Medicine at the University of Tennessee, Memphis Tennessee, after which he started Valcee Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee where he is still the President and Medical Director. Dr. Val consider himself a computer savvy and have developed so much interest in Technology. He founded a tech startup which is now a leading car-hailing startup in the South East transport ecosystem. The startup is positioning to grow based on an appreciation by Coal City residents for the very high-quality service it provide. Dr. Val is also committed to the growth and development of Enugu and Nigeria as a whole.
