TEDxGreensboro will offer its program virtually using ZOOM webinars and will feature presentations, Q & A session as well as a moderated discussion. Our twelve speakers have been divided into six sessions occurring from 12:30 to 2:30 Eastern time on September 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, and 24.

Amanda Sturgill

Amanda Sturgill teaches journalism and media analytics to awesome students at Elon University. She's fascinated by the intersection of communication technology and society in the news, for people of faith and for citizens. She's been an editor and author on multiple books and articles.

Andrew Dellinger

Anthony Dellinger serves as President and Scientist for Kepley BioSystems. Dr. Dellinger’s expertise includes attractant molecular matter and chemistry, facilitating the invention and engineering of synthetic agents. He holds a BS in Forensic Molecular Biology with a Minor in Chemistry and a PhD in Nanoscience.

Andrew Smiler

Andrew Smiler, PhD, is an author and licensed therapist with expertise in adolescent boys, men, and masculinity. He is the author of the award winning “Dating and Sex: A Guide for the 21st Century Teen Boy,” and co-author of the best-selling textbook “The Masculine Self (6th ed.)".

Anna Luisa Daigneault

Anna Luisa Daigneault is a linguistic anthropologist. She serves as the program director for Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages. She has conducted fieldwork in the Americas and the Pacific Islands, and has contributed to over 30 Talking Dictionaries. Daigneault has been published by The Dominion, Global Voices, and SAPIENS.

Carlos Parks

Carlos Parks was born in Goldsboro NC Carlos and his sister Sharonda were raised in Lynchburg Va. where his family relocated after his father and mother separated. Carlos is a father of two with another on the way. Carlos has 4 grandchildren and a beautiful wife Demetria. Carlos is a licensed NC Realtor and speaker.

Chase Holleman

Chase Holleman, LCSW, LCAS is a social worker specializing in the needs of persons affected by substance use. Chase’s area of focus are recovery oriented systems of care and harm reduction. He brings both personal experience as a person in long-term recovery from drug use and professional experience as an advocate and as a direct service provider.

Christine Murray

Christine Murray is Director of the UNCG Center for Youth, Family, & Community Partnerships. She also directs the Healthy Relationships Initiative and co-founded See the Triumph. Christine has a PhD in Couple and Family Counseling from the University of Florida and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor.

Joseph Stern

Stern is a practicing neurosurgeon who learned about the central need for compassion in caring for others through the illness and death of his younger sister and later her husband. Redesigning healthcare has become a passion.

Justin Harrington

Justin “Demeanor” Harrington is an artist born in Greensboro, North Carolina. merging hip hop and unorthodox folk elements, Harrington bridges the gap between contemporary and traditional cultural music. professionally trained as an actor, he weaves storytelling and character to engage and inspire all around him.

Kevin Dorman

Kevin is a non-binary speech-language pathologist who specializes in long-distance transgender vocal training. Using their background as a voice actor, singer, and voice disorder specialist, Kevin brings a versatile toolkit to their sessions.

Kevin Ortiz

Kevin is a first generation college graduate from the University of Central Florida. Born in Mexico, Kevin migrated to Orlando in 2003 at the age of 12 years old and has lived in Greensboro since 2018. In 2019, Kevin graduated from the Dream Lead Institute at Trinity University in San Antonio and currently sits on the board of the Hispanic League.

Nyota Gordon

Gordon is a US Army retiree who served twenty-two years of active duty.She developed leadership skills through serving and living all over the world in both enlisted and commissioned roles. She is now an adaptability coach and leadership strategist working with individuals to become more adaptive their personal and professional lives.
