TEDxYouth@SWA 2020 combines a unique group of speakers presenting ideas worth spreading. This year we have a diverse and powerful set of speakers that will be of great interest to aspiring minds of Jakarta of any age, but particularly to the younger generation. We have taken feedback from last year's event and put all of our hearts and minds into building an even better lineup of idea-based talks and a higher quality overall experience.

Aakar Abyasa

CEO Jouska.id
Aakar is an entrepreneur, CEO, and founder of Jouska Indonesia, whose vision is to take financial planning in Indonesia to the next level. He started working as a personal financial assistant, but in 2013 decided to start his own enterprise. After experiencing the damage of fraud first hand, he realized the importance of financial knowledge, and so was inspired to build a Financial Consultant company which he hopes to be the solution, Jouska.id.

Alexander Thian

Writer & Photographer
Otherwise known as ‘Amrazing’ by his 460,000 followers, Alexander is a travel blogger, photographer and ‘storygrapher’. From one city to another, he uses his camera to capture the essence of each moment in the hopes of sharing stories with his followers, educating them step by step. As a writer, he has published two books: ‘The Not-So-Amazing Life of @aMrazing’, and ‘Somewhere Only We Know’.

Alisa Haoken

Student
Alisa Haoken is a SWA ninth-grader. Ever since her childhood, she has always been fascinated by the multitude of changes technology has brought about in our lives. She started out fiddling around with little LEGO bricks, and soon attended a Robotics centre where she later learnt to use NXT and EV3 to build and program robots. Over time, the technological fields she was exposed to branched out to: engineering and programming through Arduino; using different programming languages such as Java, Python and C++; and web-design through HTML and CSS - and soon discovered her passion for technology. In the midst of her journey, she soon realized the significance of technology in our lives, and is excited whenever she thinks about how it will grow towards the future. Today, she would like to share how to further maximize this growth of technology, and how it can help change the world.

Andreas Diantoro

Managing Director SAP Indonesia
Andreas is an IT veteran who has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Before becoming the President Director of Microsoft for Indonesia in 2012, he was the Managing Director of Dell for Asia, where he was responsible for services in 23 countries. Now as the Managing Director for PT. SAP Indonesia, Andreas uses his experience to lead operations and drive business growth. Andreas also has a significant interest in sports. In fact, he was the former President of Indonesia Handball Association, and he enjoys observing Indonesia’s football and basketball teams.

Cindy Harjatanaya

Co-Founder Art Therapy Jakarta
Cindy graduated from LASALLE College of Arts with a fuelling passion to pursue her hobby. She started out as a self-employed visual artist and muralist, but soon climbed the ladder to become the Board of Director of Yayasan Perguruan Sultan Iskandar. Currently, Cindy is the Co-founder of Art Therapy Jakarta, where art is used to support and improve one’s mental health.

David Goh

Student
David Goh is a SWA Grade 9 student. He has joined math competitions since he is a child. He felt very fascinated seeing other students getting all the medals and awards. He started out joining competitions when he was 8 years old and getting the first medal. He joined national and international competitions several times. The last competition he joined, he got the champion trophy and won 3 gold medals. He realised that his passion for math started to develop and grow. He enjoys math and travelling. He has been to 3 different countries only for math competitions, such as America, India and Singapore. After going through all these competitions, he realised that his passion developed when he was 8 years old. Now, he would like to share his experiences in Mathematics competitions and developing passions.

Evani Jesslyn

Founder & CEO First Crack Coffee & Strada Coffee
Evani is a world-renowned coffee enthusiast, who is currently living her dreams of being the first ever, Indonesian, international-class barista. Born on the 18th of August in 1990, Evani was never much of a coffee lover, but as the years passed, her hate turned into a newfound love for coffee. She was prepared to leave her accounting job in America, and risk it all to delve deeper into the world of coffee. Evani’s journey included attending roasting classes in San Francisco and Singapore. With hard work and dedication, she managed to open several coffeeshops, and even presented coffee to the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

Faye Simanjuntak

Founder of Rumah Faye
Faye is a 17-year-old Indonesian advocate for human rights. Moved and inspired by the victims of abduction that she has visited, Faye, who was 11 at that time, started her own social-organisation named “Rumah Faye.” Their mission is to pursue a world where every child has the right to M. Three years after its establishment, the organisation opened its first house, providing shelter for up to 20 girls aged 12 to 18. In 2019, Faye Simanjuntak was listed as one of the “50 Asians to Watch” published by Strait Time Newspaper of Singapore.

Fellexandro Ruby

Entrepreneur & Content Creator
Fellexandro began his journey as a photographer and food blogger back in 2010, which all started when he attended school in Australia. He is the creator of Wanderbites, a website which delves deeper into how certain food is made and the businesses behind them. From this, he started getting offers from magazines to take photographs of restaurants, menus and many other things. He regularly holds workshops to help businesses create marketing material on social media as well.

Jenty Siswanto

Community Activist
Jenty Siswanto is an active member of her community. She has a longstanding interest in promoting mindfulness in daily life. She lives in Serpong with her husband and son (Grade 11 SWA's student). Through college and later while moving up the ladder at work, she struggled from the up and down of the roller coaster of emotions. She survived, benefited a lot from meditation training and having a positive mindset. From there, she learnt to be happy and comfortable in her own skin. Jenty earned her Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University of Technology and holds a Diploma in Food and Beverage Management from Bandung Tourism Institute (NHI). We all know and love her as a loving parent and member of our SWA community.

Jessica Halim

Co-Founder Demi Bumi
Jessica is an environmental activist who fights to raise awareness regarding the importance of sustainable living. Her passion drove her to create Demi Bumi, a project which aims to provide alternatives to single-use plastics. Demi Bumi uses a variety of environmentally friendly and natural products to create items like cotton net bags, natural beeswax food wrappers, and reusable cotton pads, where its use would encourage us to reduce our carbon footprint on a planet where our daily activities have created more harm than good. Her hands-on workshops have inspired many to delve into the world of recycling, taking baby steps to aid our planet, thus leading them to blossom into living a sustainable life.

Maria Rahajeng

E! News Asia Host & Digital Content Creator
Maria is not only Miss Indonesia 2014, but also the top 15th title holder in Miss World 2014, is the first Indonesian to ever host for E! News. With a passion for fashion, Maria has become an ambassador to several international brands, such as TRESemmé. Besides holding dearly to her passion for photography, Maria also raised funds to build a bridge for children to commute to school.

Priscilla Pangemanan

Sociopreneur & Founder SASC
Priscilla is one of the three founders of Socially Aware Sexy Cosmetics, better known as SASC, a makeup brand with a cause. SASC is a social enterprise with the goal of empowering women from all backgrounds through beauty products whilst donating part of the proceeds to charitable foundations throughout the nation. SASC also focuses on confidence of the self, actively collaborating with some of the top Indonesian activists, entrepreneurs, models, and influencers, among others. In 2018, she received the ‘Best Inspiring & Creativity Women Award’ from the Indonesian Achievement Program Management Award, a title surely fit for the woman whose company could return a 1 billion rupiah investment in a year.

Ricky Setiawan

CEO GGWP.id
Ricky is CEO and founder of GGWP.id, a news agency reporting the latest news on e-sport games and guides for games, which also has their own e-sports team. As a graduate from University of Indonesia, he earned 12 titles from joining business competitions from his time there. He enjoys writing, and was the only Indonesian representative for a Wikimedia conference in Poland. Prior to starting his own company, he worked at the IBM, an American IT company.

SkinnyIndonesian24 Jovial da Lopez

Content Creator, Actor, Producer
As the “DaLopez Brothers” (Andovi DaLopez & Jovial DaLopez), SkinnyIndonesian24 is arguably one of the pioneers that have popularised social media, particularly YouTube in Indonesia. The brothers work as partners in crime, and have created over 200 videos with over 2 Million subscribers on their Youtube channel. These tremendous numbers merely represent their achievements as comedians which is the personality their followers love and idolise. Outside of social media, the duo brothers have taken part in local movies and tv shows such as “Malam Minggu Miko”, “Dilan 1991”, “Comic 8: Casino Kings” and “Jomblo Keep Smile”. Currently, they are working on their next film “Bucin”.

Teo Nenes

Student
Teo Vichinheski Nenes is a veteran world traveller who, at the age of 16, has lived in, learnt and experienced 5 different countries across three continents. A self-proclaimed global citizen, he is of Polish and Italian descent, was born in Brazil, moved to China at the age of 5, where he lived for 7 years, before moving to Malaysia, where he spent 2 years before living in Cairo for 2 years and now has finally found his home in Indonesia since July 2019, at least for the next 2 years... He has been immersed in many different cultures and is what we would call a true “third culture kid.” Teo enjoys political science, biology, studying world languages and philosophy. He loves “a good debate”, discussing global issues with his peers and teachers and plans to study medicine after graduating from SWA in 2021.
