In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

When he was younger, Eamonn experienced stage fright. He now shares his experience of how he overcame that fear with a message to help others understand the power of their unique voice and why public speaking should be brought back to schools.

John Wallace

Retired NBA basketball player (NY Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns & Detroit Pistons)
John Wallace is a retired American professional basketball player. The 6'8 forward played seven seasons in the NBA, in addition to stints in Greece and Italy. A legendary player for Syracuse University, his #44 jersey will be retired in February, 2020. Today, he remains active in the Knicks organization, coaching camps and clinics, and has shared his message of the importance of leadership and work ethic with more than 50,000 kids across the country. He also serves as a Senior Advisor to SpeakWell - a leadership and public speaking training program for students, and as an Executive Board Member of Heavenly productions, whose mission is to help kids in need and distress.

Monica Morales

a 5x Emmy-award winner, Monica Morales, who has been a reporter at PIX11 in New York since 2009, leads the station’s "Monica Makes It Happen" franchise, which airs weeknights at 5:45pm during the PIX11 News. Through her segment, “Monica Makes It Happen,” Morales focuses on helping families across the tri-state area get repairs, respect, and social justice. She has visited over 150 developments, helped fix over 45 homes and helped restore the heat and hot water and gas to more than 75 buildings. Morales’ advocacy work in New York City public housing was recognized by Governor Andrew Cuomo and then Public Advocate Latisha James, and Morales was invited to the White House with a tenant president in 2018.
