In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amanda McKenna

Amanda McKenna has co-founded and sold two businesses, including the UK's largest independent digital agency. Amanda lives in Winchester and is a mentor, the Founder of women’s network The Waterfront Club, and an investor in female-led start-ups, including Culture Whisper and Good-Loop.

Ben Scott-Robinson

Ben Scott Robinson has spent 24 years enthusiastically bouncing along, designing useful or fun things for people to do with the latest technologies. Some of them for clients, some for his own businesses. However, he considers himself a lifelong failure. He failed to get a degree. He failed to sail round the world. Most of his companies have failed. He has failed to overthrow inequality, cure cancer or bring world peace. He has completely failed to change the world. So far. Ben’s life has changed dramatically over the past few years – he is now Parent to three small, muddy robots and a farming genius.

Chris Pott

Chris Pott is a percussionist and drummer from Winchester. Having studied percussion at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama he now works and performs in a range of contexts exploring classical, jazz and contemporary percussion music. Chris is particularly passionate about collaborative music-making and works regularly across the country as a musical workshop leader and facilitator.

Dr Sophie Arthur

Dr Sophie Arthur is currently a Science Communications Officer at MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences. Dr Arthur studied for 4 years at the University of Southampton and was awarded her PhD this year. She blogs, she podcasts, she is found regularly on Instagram live and she makes even the most complex science simple to understand. Dr Soph now describes herself as a stem cell biologist, science communicator & digital comms creator, she’s worked alongside brands such as Mattel, STEMettes, Merck & New Scientist Live, and had her work featured The Sunday Times Style & Forbes amongst others.

Eddie Owusu

Eddie Owusu is Head of Year 11 and a Maths teacher at a local secondary school in Winchester. He is passionate about young people achieving their potential. Eddie is a former Team GB basketball player and was the Head Coach at Winchester Royals and now coaches in the South Premier League with Solent Kestrels.

Hannah Bellamy

Born in Winchester, Hannah has lived all over England and in Scotland, Norway, Alaska, Abu Dhabi, India, and Texas. Her degree in English and American Literature launched her career in publishing, but after a brief stint in an Indian call centre she transitioned into corporate responsibility and then the nonprofit world.

Phillip Attmore

Phillip Attmore is an artist, actor, composer, choreographer, catalyst and visionary who has been dancing, singing, and acting since the age of three. Phillip currently lives in New York, Having worked in multiple Broadway shows, film, television and commercials, he has shared the stage and screen with the likes of Hugh Jackman, Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, and many more. Mr. Attmore is a three-time Astaire Award winner, amongst a host of other accolades and has been recognised as one of America’s top 20 dancers He says: “We were all created to be, but we must all choose to move!”
