Theme: The Legacy of us all

The theme for the inaugural TEDxDepartmentOfCommerce calls upon ideas which have granted humankind greater purpose across the noble pursuits which we endeavor upon. The road which we have traveled upon and where it leads us, and how we would be remembered by what we leave behind, these stories offer immense inspiration and are worthy of being put to light. These are the stories we invite for our TEDx stage to enlighten us with ‘the Legacy of us all'

Anil Malik

Lt. General Anil Malik, AVSM (Retd) served in the Indian Army for 38 years and superannuated in May 2013. Some significant assignments held by him include Chief Advisor, Indian Military Advisory Team to Zambia, Director (Security Affairs) Eurasia Division, Ministry of External Affairs. He has over five years of corporate experience with India’s leading Infrastructure Development Company as Vice President Business Development and Corporate affairs, responsible for Interaction with Key Ministries of Government of India. A strategic planner and consultant with a vision to prepare the ‘Next Generation of Leaders’ to face the challenges of life, his aim is to spread the message of ‘Shaping the Future’ amongst the youth.

Karnika Seth

Dr. Karnika Seth is an Internationally acclaimed cyberlawyer and expert on Information Technology laws practicing in the Supreme court of India whose contributions to the field of cyberlaws are widely recognised. Dr. Seth is also a distinguished Author and a speaker on pertinent legal issues,both in electronic and print media. She is the Founding Partner of Seth Associates, a globally networked Indian law firm. She is also the Chairperson and Founder of the Lex Cyberia, World’s first integrated research centre dedicated to promoting knowledge and rendering legal consulting and cyber forensics services in India and across the globe.

NIKI MEHRA

Niki Mehra is a renowned Indian Fashion and Beauty blogger proudly holds the “Best Indian Fashion Influencer 2018” award at the JD Fashion Awards and News X Women Achievers Award 2019. Instagram being her strength at more than 300k followers, she has taken her love for high street fashion to another level with hands-on practical hacks under the hashtags #NMRethinks and #hacksbyniki. She firmly believes that "In this rat race of changing fashion trends, one should not feel left out and instead be more open to finding one's own style."

Palak Shah

Ms. Palak Shah is the 28-year-old CEO of Ekaya Banaras. She has a Business Management Degree from King’s College, London; and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Babson College, Massachusetts. Ms. Shah’s most relevant credentials for her role as CEO are those that one can’t acquire training in - an innate and eternal love for textiles; as well as a fertile imagination dedicated to making historical textile arts more approachable for the modern audience. Her aim is developing as a cultural initiative for the admirers of handloom work and extends itself to those who want to discover it.

Rahul Makin

Rahul Makin is an incredible RJ who was honored with the award of LIMCA BOOK OF RECORD for continuously hosting a radio show for 105 hours. He has been awarded as best RJ in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019. He is a charmer and heart throb for youth. He has been the reason behind many young aspirants dreaming to be a voice that matters and stands for change. His mantra for life is “When an artist’s mind stops working, it is the point of their death."

Sanil Sachar

He is also of the co-owners of the global sports brand Tru. He is a national best-selling author from India with four books, traversing through prose, poetry, short-stories, scripts and couplets. With over 200 works of published poetry and short-stories, Sachar is one of the few Indian authors to be published in all forms of literature. Sanil has co-produced the New York Film Festival award winning Bollywood film, Mantra. As part of his work, Sanil is a highly acclaimed columnist, triple Ted speaker, An artist and innovator, with a goal to drive change, one word at a time.
