Abhijit Bangar is the Municipal Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation. He has successfully solved the problem of distributed irrigation through use of non-conventional energy resource. Previously he has been the District Collector of Palghar, where he has pioneered the plantation of 4 crore trees and worked on solving the malnutrition problem for the tribals

Akash Manoj

Child Prodigy and Innovator
Akash Manoj is a young innovator who invented a low-cost device to detect silent heart attacks at the age of 16. He is exclusively working on low cost health-care diagnostics, is an Ashoka Youth Venturer and President's gold medallist. His research for the detection of asymptomatic heart attacks is internationally recognised and validated. He is now working on his start-up - Cardioptre, which aims to deliver his research for public use.

Ashwini Sonavane

Block Education Officer – Bhamragad, Gadchiroli district
Ashwini Sonavane is a Block Education Officer at Bhamragad, which lies in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. She has been a school teacher for over 12 years. Ashwini willingly volunteered for this position which lies in the biggest naxal driven district of Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. Whilst most officers refuse to take up this post, Ashwini is the only women officer in the district and is making education accessible for tribal children

She was a High School teacher who taught chemistry and math before she became a BEO

N Vasudevan

Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Mangrove Cell
"N. Vasudevan created the Mangrove and Marine Biodiversity Conservation Foundation to support conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in select coastal areas in Maharashtra. He facilitated the use of sustainable and eco-friendly technologies like Coral Transplantation, Central Clownfish Hatchery amongst others, which were then introduced by the Mangrove Cell and reputed national-level institutions to help the conservation foundation. It is due to his efforts that the mangrove cover in Maharashtra has increased by 63%."

Narayan Vasudevan -Chief Conservator-Forest

N. Vasudevan is an Indian Forest Service officer, who has been heading the Mangrove Cell of Maharashtra since its inception in 2012. He is a qualified Marine Biologist, whose childhood memories of the mangroves in his neighborhood and his professional interest in mangrove ecology fueled his passion for mangrove conservation. Vasudevan has donned many hats, working in the fields of forestry, fisheries, rural development and film development before finding his niche in the mangroves. During his stint in the Mangrove Cell, the mangrove cover of Maharashtra State increased from 186 to 304 square kilometers, a whopping 63% increase. Vasudevan has also played a key role in the creation of the “Mangrove Foundation of Maharashtra” and the “Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary” in suburban Mumbai.
