In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alison Young

Team GB Ultra Athlete
Ali Young is a 45yr old married Mum of two teenage girls who lives in Buckinghamshire. Following University, had careers in the Probation Service, resettling offenders in the Community, then in Advertising as a TV Producer and has now been a self employed Personal Trainer for last 10 years. Started competitively running in mid30's and qualified for Team GB 24hr team in 2015, and since run in 3 Championships. Next race is the 24hr World Championships in Albi, France in October 2019. Ali's 24hr PB is 135 miles. She has completed The Marathon Des Sables, the 154 mile Spartathlon and this year came 1st lady in the 145 mile Grand Union Canal race with a time of 28hrs30. Despite the big miles races, Ali's happiest place is running a 5km parkrun.

Andrew Grill

Bojana Reiner

Senior Governance Counsellor
With more than 20 years professional experience in international development, journalism, intelligence and investigations across EMEA gained in prominent organizations worldwide, Bojana Reiner is passionate about innovative solutions to state-building in developing countries and policy designs that drive impact and make countries future-ready. In her current role, Bojana leads the EBRD’s multi-million donor-funded governance programmes in Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, including the award-winning EU-EBRD Ukraine Reforms Architecture (URA) programme, which is a flagship state capacity-building initiative. Previously Bojana worked at the US Congress, BBC and Kroll. Bojana holds a First class Masters degree in International Law and she is proficient in six languages. She is a mentor, a strong advocate for women’s empowerment and children’s education and she is the founder of the EBRD Family Network.

Henrik von Scheel

Industry 4.0 Originator
Best known as the originator of the “4th Industrial Revolution” (Industry 4.0) and the mastermind of the European Digital Revolution (German Digital Agenda), which ignited the global themes of today. As the inaugurator of Germany’s digital agenda in 09, he ignited a global wave of national and corporate digital strategy adoptions. His work is applied to national economies, triggered global themes, influenced GDP growth, reset policies in governments, and set standards that are applied by 26 NATO members. His concepts has ignited hyper growth in companies and fueled the profit of fortune 500 companies.

Lise Bruynooghe

Director HR and Organisational Effectiveness and Efficiency
Lise is passionate about impactful change and the future of work. She has a multifaceted background, having studied corporate finance and strategy, international relations and trained as professional coach certified by the International Coaching Federation. Lise does not think in terms of “either or” but embraces both life and work wholeheartedly, uncovering creative, innovative paths for herself and others. In her spare time, she runs a boutique coaching practice with clients across the globe. A Franco-German national, Lise has been living in London for 11 years with her husband and three children. When little, she was a competitive ice skater and sang in Puccini’s La Boheme! Today, you can spot her outside, undertaking long distance hikes, cycling and exploring London’s rich cultural side.

Oscar Garcia

Founder and CEO of Uulala
For the past 20 years as an entrepreneur, Mr. Garcia has built companies, and accelerated the growth of small businesses. As the CEO of Uulala; a financial technology company focused on bringing millions of unbanked users into the formal economy, Oscar’s passion for social impact will be global. At Uulala he has assembled an amazing team of diverse executives many whom are of Latino descent, secured financial services and distribution partnerships all while raising millions from crowdfunding. In September 2019, Uulala launches their Neo Bank in Mexico begins boarding customers for their Spanish and English financial services platform and mobile app; a sophisticated technology platform to empower millions of users and small businesses. Mr. Garcia is driven by an insatiable desire to solve important problems through technology. Uulala, with its blockchain technology to empower a culture through financial inclusion and transparency, is the future of banking.

Ramon Juraboev

Portfolio Associate Director
Ramon Juraboev is a banker ardent about finance with purpose powered by technology. He manages a Ukrainian corporate debt portfolio at the bank and passionate about venture capital. To fulfil his passion, in free time he works for The Yard Ventures, a community of Harvard alums that invests in Harvard alumni led companies. Prior he was an Investment Director at Santander Growth Capital fund investing in UK’s high growth SMEs and has worked at PwC Strategy, Asian Development Bank and a securities market regulator. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School (GMP), London Business School (MBA), and Lubin School of Business (BBA).

Tara Shirvani

Sustainable Transport and Digitalization- Principal Sector Specialist
Tara Shirvani is leading the EBRD’s Community of Practice for Disruptive Technologies and is a Digitalization & Infrastructure Specialist passionate about leveraging technology and finance to drive impact in our countries of operation. She is a known expert in the field of green transport and infrastructure solutions, digital and AI strategies for mobility and transport. Prior, whilst at the World Bank in Washington DC, she was leading for over 6 years large-scale transport & ICT projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and East Asia. In 2019 she was awarded with the United Kingdom’s Aviva Women of the Future Award. Her work has received international recognition including the Aviva Women of the Future Award, Forbes 30 under 30 and World Economic Forum young global leaders’ award.
