x = independently organized TED event

Theme: UNSUNG HEROES

This event occurred on
October 19, 2019
Bucharest, București
Romania

This event is born from our desire for quality and meaningful education with the intention of bringing the core values of TED closer to the youth. A TEDx by the youth, for the youth with content and ideas aimed at the needs of our peers. Because right now we live in a world in which education does not offer what is needed for succes and does not prepare us for real challenges , we made it our mission to create a context and an opportunity to encourge the young to get out of their comfort zone and give them a push to become the change they desire.

THEME- UNSUNG HEROES

The purpose of our event is to bring the unsung heroes who are standing up for thier ideals and are taking in their own hands the mission to be the change they and all those around them desire. Why? To inspire all those aspiring to become the spark in their community by the power of example.
TEDxYouth@CaleaVictoriei is an ode to all the brave men and women who gathered the courage to break their boundaries through their efforts and sheer force of will. More than that, it is an impulse for all those who will. In the spirit of TED, we aim to offer our stage to the great ideas shaping our surroundings and spark curiosity in the hearts and minds of our public.

Alex Ștefănescu

Actor & Musician
"My name is Alex Stefanescu, and I work as an actor, a musician, and often a buffoon. In my previous life I used to work for one of the Big Four giants, and after feeling out of touch with the corporate life I decided to start studying acting. I studied at Caragiale Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography(UNATC) in Bucharest, then at London International School of Performing Arts. In the end, I decided to work in my country, România, be it out of love or masochism, so I made my return to Bucharest, where I had the chance to work alongside all kinds of theatres, big or small. On the side, I started writing songs, and wrote 2 light hearted musical one man shows filled with jokes which I play at Unteatru. I played them all around the country. I played my music on TV, being featured in TV shows such as iUmor and Romanians got Talent, which is probably where you know me from!"
