Avaana Harvey

Student
Avaana, 16, is an aspiring actress, dancer and singer-songwriter. A scholarship holder at the Gems World Academy Singapore, Avaana has shown academic excellence and nurtured her passion for the Performing Arts. For her contribution to the Arts, she has been awarded the Gems World Academy 'Artist of the Year', four years in a row. Last year Avaana attended a Musical Theatre workshop at the Boston Conservatory, was taken under the wing of the Singapore Reparatory Theatre’s ‘Young Company’ and achieved the Trinity College London Associateship (ATCL) in Performance Arts with distinction. Other achievements include a lead role in the school musical ‘The Addams Family’, acting at the Asian Youth Theatre Festival and featuring in the MTV music video titled ‘Unstoppable’. Avaana hopes to pursue a career in the arts and is truly thankful to her family, teachers and mentors who continue to help her in this journey.

Elizabeth Chernyak

Just another human on the planet, trying to not be squashed by the rest of the masses… Elizabeth is an enthusiastic individual, trying to bring a bit of light into the world. She’s been playing classical guitar for twelve years, sings, is very passionate about acting, and has been trying to memorise the periodic table, extremely un-successfully.

Mandi Manson

Teacher
Ms. Mandi Manson is the Middle Years Programme Drama and Diploma Programme Theatre Arts Teacher at GEMS World Academy (Singapore). She is also the school production Director, a House Leader and a Homeroom Teacher. She is an actress and singer by trade and an experienced educator and leader by profession. Originally from South Africa, she has lived and worked in 7 different countries around the world, and now calls Singapore home. Her life’s mission is to make a difference through the power of performing arts.

Muskaan Duneja

Student
Muskaan is a 16 year old individual who is always smiling and looking for some zest in life. She is very passionate about poetry and has been working dedicatedly towards honing her writing skills. Side by side, she likes to play guitar and sing along in her free time. She aspires to become an environmentalist and do as much as possible to save our planet.

Shaquille Aranas

Student
Shaquille is a 16 year old individual who aspires to become a US Naval Aviator. He is a well rounded student who enjoys sports, academics, and the arts. Currently, Shaquille is playing rugby for GEMS and enjoys working out. He plays the violin, is learning the piano, and is acting as the character Oberon in the GEMS production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Physics and math are big for him and he is learning aeronautical science with Embry-Riddle University. Shaquille hopes to fly F-18 super hornets in the future and is working hard to achieve this goal
