In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Abdullah Harun İlhan

Abdullah Harun ILHAN was born in Malatya, Turkey in 1994, he has been into visual arts since he was a child. He has been taking photos and making short films since he was 12. Held his first official photo exhibition in 2012 when he was 17. Studied Film & Television in Turkey (Istanbul), USA (Washington DC, New York), UK (Canterbury, London), South Korea (Busan). His films have been awarded and screened in more than 20 countries. Specifically interested in etymology. Currently, working and doing Master’s in Istanbul, Turkey.

Fatih Cihan Zent

Fatih is a student in Comparative Literature at Ibn Haldun university. He learned to play the Nay instrument from a famous pioneer player in Turkey Ahmet toz, who is himself a student of Niyazi Sayın. Recently, he started playing Indian Music and Bansuri.

Gökhan Yücel

Hakkı Öcal

He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences. Öcal has earned master and doctoral degrees from Boğaziçi University. He continued with post-doctoral studies at the International Research Institute at Harvard University. Öcal, who was the general director of the publication in the interpreter’s newspaper, was awarded the Press Freedom Award by the International Press Institute. He has taught desktop publishing, visual design and web design courses at George Mason University and NOVA. Byte, PCWorld, and PCLife magazines published articles and computer programming language were the topics that he wrote about. He served as a rector consultant and faculty member of the Faculty of Communication at Bahçeşehir University. Now, he also serves as a rector consultant at Ibn Haldun University and is a faculty member in the Faculty of Communication.

Halil Berktay

Heba Al Heraki

19 years Syrian, studying Psychology at the moment. Writes and preforms poetry specifically but does preform public speech in its general sense as well.

Intissar Rebouh

Intissar Rebouh is an Algerian undergraduate student at Ibn Haldun University, studying management at the moment. She is interested in the Social Sciences and Humanities in general. She likes to meet new people in her life. She does perform public speech. Her passion is sports, she practices Taekwondo, swimming, and biking. She draws cartoons and caricatures. She is a beginner in playing Oud. She is always willing to take risks or to try out new methods, ideas, and experiences.

Muhannad Abu Mahfouz

Muhannad Abu Mahfouz, Jordanian originally from Palestine. Mechanical engineer, currently studying a master’s degree in business administration. Working in an educational institution as an instructor for mechanical engineering and management courses. Having a high diploma in sports and nutrition, interested in the sports field.

Munirah Mohamed Alaboudi

Dr. Munirah Alaboudi worked at different educational institutions in Saudi Arabia and America. The most recent was Boston University where she finished her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and co-taught students attending the School of Education who aim at becoming future educational leaders and effective teachers.

Recep Şentürk

Dr. Recep Şentürk is the President of Ibn Khaldun University (IHU) in Istanbul, Turkey. Professor Şentürk holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University, Department of Sociology, and specializes in civilization studies, sociology and Islamic studies with a focus on social networks, human rights, and modernization in the Muslim world. Among his books are in English, Narrative Social Structure: Hadith Transmission Network 610-1505 , and in Turkish; Open Civilization: Towards a Multi- Civilizational Society and World; Ibn Khaldun: Contemporary Readings; Malcolm X: Struggle for Human Rights, Social Memory: Hadith Transmission Network 610-1505. Dr. Şentürk’s work has been translated to Arabic, Japanese and Spanish.

Seda Yekeler

Seda Yekeler was born in Ankara on 11.06.1982 as the daughter of a civilian family. As a soldier girl, Yekeler traveled to another school every year, so she learned not to connect to a single house, a single room, a single class, and she always reflected this philosophy, which she discovered with great difficulty, as innovations in business life. Yekeler completed the Foreign Language Department of Anamur Super High School of the district of Mersin and graduated from Bilkent University English-French Translation and Interpreting Department. She specialized in Law Translation and translated books. She founded SEYEV as she wanted to spread help. She was the youngest foundation founder in Turkey.

Suzanne Hitto

Suzanne earned her B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas in the Department of Literary Studies with specialization in English Language Education. She holds a Texas Teaching Certification and Oxford TESOL Certification. Her lengthy teaching experience has allowed her to work with English language learners of a wide range. She is originally from Chicago, Illinois, but recently moved to İstanbul from Dallas, Texas, where she lived with her family for 18 years.

Zia Ahmad Eshanzada

Zia Eshanzada is the Lead Campaign Specialist at TRT World Citizen, the philanthropic arm of TRT World. Zia studied Business Marketing and Branding at California State University, Fullerton. As a community and social activist, he worked with youth and young adults on political participation and social integration in the Southern California Muslim community. Zia worked with Islamic Relief USA where he had the opportunity to travel throughout Africa, the Middle East, and Asia to deliver humanitarian aid and help with sustainable development projects in local communities along with partner NGOs and local governments.

Zulkarnain Mohammed

Zulkarnain Mohammed is a Ghanaian student, born in 1989 in Accra. After graduating with a major in Political Science at the undergraduate level in 2012, he worked with the Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana Limited. Subsequently, he obtained a master degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Sabanci University in 2017 before joining Ibn Haldun University’s master program in Political Science and International Relations.
