Leslie Ferris Yerger

Breast Cancer Thriver and Women's Advocate for the next generation of breast cancer screening
Leslie lives in Hawthorn Woods, IL with her husband, John. She is the proud mother of 3 children, Evan, Julia, and Megan. She is a life coach, is the Chair of the Board of Love INC Lake County Southwest. Leslie was diagnosed with Stage IV lobular breast cancer in November, 2017, when abnormalities were found during a routine bone density scan. Unfortunately, her cancer was not visible on either a mammogram or an ultrasound. Leslie works to make a positive impact in advancing the next major breakthrough in breast cancer screening. Fundraising during her Camino de Santiago walk in the fall of 2018 was her first means to that end, where she raised money that allowed the Mayo Clinic to expand their Molecular Breast Imaging (MBI) study into MD Anderson in Texas.
