The World Economic Forum’s report on ‘Future of Jobs’ lists ‘Emotional Intelligence’ (EI) in the top 10 skills needed to thrive in the 4th Industrial revolution. Research from Harvard, Stanford, and Carnegie Foundation show that 85–87% of our success accounts from emotional intelligence skills, yet we only pay attention to them 10% of the time. In fact, with two people having same IQ and experience, the one with higher EI would be a more successful leader 90 % of the times. Which one you seek to be?

In this Salon, participants will explore:
* Why EI is such a crucial skill for personal and organizational productivity?
* How can you elevate your EI and cue your success?

Joining TEDxPlano curator Shannah Hayley to facilitate this discussion is Samina Hooda. Samina is a Co-founder and President at ImPowerQ Associates, LLC., an organizational performance advisory firm focused on increasing the ‘Purpose Quotient®’, an innovative methodology to uncover latent capacity and improve performance. Recently, Samina has worked closely with US Department of Labor in launching ImPowerQ’s ‘Heroes to Healthcare’ program, the only apprenticeship model of its kind focused on a transition strategy for healthcare-experienced veterans to acquire meaningful careers and build capacity in the healthcare industry. As an executive and professional coach, she helps her clients in realizing their purpose, potential and process to achieve their goals. With a belief that self-awareness is a key skill for success, she uses various assessments to create a deeper understanding of personal strengths and emotional intelligence so that her clients are empowered to excel.
