Theme: Women in Leadership

This event occurred on
September 21, 2019
Melbourne, Victoria
Australia

According to a report by McKinsey in 2018, women constitute 42% of all employees across industries in Australia, yet only 10% are CEOs or in leadership positions in for-profit organisations. While this is still an improvement from the typical male-dominated upper echelons of companies, our society still has a long way to go when it comes to striving for gender equality in workplaces and leadership positions.

But, what about the women who have made it to the top against all the odds? Our next salon event, TEDxMonashUniversitySalon 2: Women in Leadership is all about them, their achievements, their struggles, and their stories. On 21 September, we will be hosting an immersive experience for you, and hear the stories of some of the most incredible women leaders of Australia.

Increasing women’s representation in leadership positions is integral to developing organisations better-equipped to handle the diverse demands of our ever-changing society. Learn what it means to have a better understanding of how you can be a part of this change not only in industries but in our community as well.
