In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alexa Salzberger

Alexa was born in a town called Heidelberg, Germany, where she lived all her life until she came to Hawaiʻi for a year abroad. In this year, she has learned a lot about herself. She’s found many things she is passionate about, such as movies and photography. Alexa would like to make the world a better place and that's why she’s decided to share her ideas.

Hikari Shaver

Hikari is a Junior at Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy. When she is not checking her social media or posting a video on Snapchat, she enjoys going on adventures with her friends to the beach as well as traveling to her favorite destinations: Italy, Japan, and Austria.

Jacob Rouse

Jacob is an individual with a personal vendetta against the corn industry, with an interest to inform about corn. Passionate, informative, and punctual are adjectives that describe him.

Kirra Brown

Kirra was born and raised in Waimea, Hawaii, and is currently a junior at Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy. She is passionate about equality and representation in all corners of society for people from all walks of life. She believes that the easiest way to improve your life experiences is to not be afraid of change.

Mark Schiller

Mark is a Junior at Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy. He is the founder and President of HPA's Gender and Sexuality Alliance and a vocal student activist for LGBT rights.

Yingqi Liu

Jimmy was born and raised in Shanghai, China. He has a variety of interests and the passion to make high school a more meaningful and enjoyable experience for his peers.
