Theme: The Power of Curiosity

We’re excited to announce that young enthusiasts of the NIS Shymkent community will come together to explore the theme The Power of Curiosity on the 13th of September 2019. If “curiosity killed the cat”, can we deny that curiosity has always been driving force that lead us to new discoveries and major breakthroughs? This question will be explored at TEDxYouth@NISShymkent.

Aliza Momysheva

Grade 11 student and young researcher

Aliza is a 16 years old student. She likes studying linguistics. She can speak fluently two languages and is actively learning English and Chinese. What is more, Aliza is keen on reading and engaged in self-development. In her talk, she will discuss the idea about strong connection between the in-depth study of native language and self-enrichment.

Assel Askarova

Assel is a 16 years old student. She is in love with art and engaged in continuous self-development. What is more, Assel is sure that every woman is very beautiful. Assel will speak about her experience in self-acceptance and beauty standards.

Assem Bisenbay

Grade 10 student and volunteer

Assem is 15 years old student. In her free time, she tries to practice playing the guitar playing skills and takes care of her siblings. She also really enjoys the process of getting knowledge and opening new things. Assem is going to talk about how gossip can be a good solution to some problems.

Assylzhan Altay

Assylzhan Altay was the most active student at his school. He had a busy schedule with every minute planned – like a true entrepreneur. But now, he doesn't have. And he is happy about that. He's going to talk about the reasons of his decision.

Dariga loves debates, discussions on various topics. Despite her tight schedule of school life, she always finds time to procrastinate. However, currently she is actively wrestling with it and in her speech Dariga will share how much she succeeds.

Dinmukhamet Murat

Grade 12 student and designer

Dinmukhamet is a 17 years old student. He is the founder of the portal Q–Travel which is aimed at the development of domestic tourism. Dimash is interested not only in business and entrepreneurship, but also in planning the interiors of apartments and residential premises. In his talk Dimash will share information about how curiosity can change people's lives, based on his experience.

Merey Qassymbekova

Grade 11 student and social activist

Merey is 16 years old. She loves travelling, singing, creative writing and drawing. She is also fond of chemistry and experiments. Her favorite quote is “Let us raise the steppe without humiliating the mountains” by Olzhas Suleimenov. Merey's best inspiration is her friends.

Mukhammejan Duisengali

Grade 12 student and social activist

Mukhammedzhan is a social activist and public speaker. He is a founder of 'Vesta' youth social association. He tries to be curious every day of his life. Mukhammedzhan is going to speak about how to avoid negative effects of being curious.

Nazarbek Kanykhan

Grade 12 student and competitive person

Nazarbek is a man with big dreams and rapid ambitions. He likes to speak in front of the public and wants to talk about what qualities make people to be curious in his speech. Nazarbek is a great source of inspiration for his schoolmates.

Rauan Omarov

Entrepreneur and pastry chef

Rauan is a founder of Korizza coffee chain, co-owner of CoffeeLike coffee chain. He is going to prove that we should not be afraid of being inquisitive and use all our potentials to 100%.

Sagi Kassymbek

Grade 10 student and school activist

Sagi is a 15 years old student. He is an active student who loves participating in school life. He is a debate club member, guitar player, magician and actor. So, he has many interesting hobbies and these hobbies changed his life in a good way. He is going to prove it in his speech.
