In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Akshay Ayre

Classical Dancer
Mr. Akshay Ayre, a renowned Bharata Nrutyam dancer, who was trained under the able guidance of Guru Smt. Tejaswini Lele and currently training in Bharata Nrutyam under the guidance of Guru Dr. Jayashree Rajagopalan considers it his mission to pass on the tradition of Indian Classical Dance to the upcoming generations. His devotion and dedication to Bharatnatyam, has brought him numerous accolades. Mr. Ayre won the national senior scholarship awarded by the Ministry Of Culture India for the year 2014-2015. He is also a member of the International Dance Council CID, Paris. Mr. Ayre is the director at Vitamin Art Pvt. Ltd, where he teaches Bharatnatyam to over a 100 students.

Arpit Ratan

Entrepreneur
Studied at ILS Law College and completed an LLM from Pune University, Arpit Ratan is a serial entrepreneur. He Co-founded Signzy in 2015 with the aim of creating a trust mechanism in the digital economy and prior to Signzy he has also Co-founded the OjasLegal a modern law services firm focussed on startups. He is also listed in Forbes 30 Under 30 and awarded as the entrepreneur of the year in 2017 for his contribution in the Fintech space.

Chirag Chhajer

Restaurateur
Chirag Chhajer is the Co Founder and Director at Hunger Pangs Pvt. Ltd., Burma Burma Restaurant and Tea Room. His is the only organised Burmese restaurant chain in the country known for its authentic Burmese delicacies served in a contemporary setting coupled with handpicked Teas. Chirag Chhajer featured in the Forbes India 30 Under 30, 2018. His acclaimed restaurant has been awarded ‘Times Food Award for the Best Burmese Food’ every year since 2015, ’Restaurant of the Year’, and ‘Best Asian Restaurant in Delhi NCR’.

Ishaan Ghosh

Tabla player
All of 19, Ishaan Ghosh stands out as one of the front-ranking Tabla players in the younger generation of India’s Classical Music scene. He is the grandson of one of the most acclaimed Tabla Maestros of the 20th century, Late ‘Padmabhushan’ Nikhil Ghosh and the son and disciple of the internationally renowned Tabla and Sitar stalwart Nayan Ghosh. Since the age of 8, Ishaan has presented traditional Indian music at prestigious venues in Switzerland, France, Spain, UK and Mexico among other countries. His dynamic Tabla Solos have received wide appreciation from musicians and connoisseurs alike. Besides accompanying his father’s sitar concerts, he has also performed with landmark figures in the field of Indian Classical Music like ‘Sangeet Martand’ Pt. Jasraj, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Padmabhushan Pt Buddhadev Dasgupta, Ustad Aashish Khan, Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, violin legend Dr. N Rajam, Rakesh Chaurasia & Purbayan Chatterjee, among several other prominent artistes.

Mayday Returns

Robotics Group
Winners of one of the biggest international robotics competitions, First Lego League (FLL) and currently awaiting a patent, Team Mayday Returns started exploring robotics in 2014. The team consists of four ambitious students: Vanshaj Ajmera, Yashish Mohnot, Aayush Shah and Jai Jariwala. The teenagers, who are extremely passionate about science and technology, were inspired to develop Funetics in 2014. Funetics is a mixed-media, multi-sensory game which helps students with dyslexia improve their phonetics, listening and sequencing skills. Funetics has won numerous awards at the national and international level, such as the ‘Best Project Award’ at the First Lego League (FLL) World Championship, held at Johannesburg, South Africa. Today, Team Mayday Returns has demonstrated Funetics to 44 teachers and 130 students and received extremely positive feedback. At TEDxYouth@JNS, Team Mayday Returns will be talking about the bright future of robotics and education.

Pritesh Sodha

Theater Director
Originally an MBA in Marketing and now a theatre professional, Pritesh Sodha started his journey into theatre in 1999 with an amateur theatre group (Brahman Sabha Malad Kala Krida )and moved on to working with theatre companies who were active in the experimental theatre circuit. He was doing his MBA at the same time, and immediately after his post graduation he got an opportunity to work for many world class banks, but his heart was elsewhere. Last 6 years introduced him to the world of commercial theatre arena and today he is an actor, director, light designer for successful theatre productions in the city of Mumbai. Pritesh Sodha has won many awards in the field of theatre and Drama and he leads the Workshop on Forum Theatre at the Surat Kahani Festival.

Shronit Ladhani

Entrepreneur
Mr. Shronit Ladhani is the Founder of CareerNinja, a young NASSCOM and Zee backed venture in the Education Technology sector which focusses on improving our education system and creating skilled youth by inspiring, educating and guiding them to achieve their career and life goals. He is also one of the Founding Partners of Tykee Capital Partners, an Angel Investing Fund, which was launched in 2015, when he was 22 thus making him one of India’s Youngest Angel Investors. Mr. Ladhani has a wide range of international experience having led multiple cross cultural teams and having worked in Brazil and the Czech Republic.
