In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Armine Grigoryan

Military Officer
Armine Grigoryan was born in Yerevan. Her parents are teachers and instilled the value of education. She has received local and foreign education, graduating from State Engineering University of Armenia, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and “Mkhitar Gosh” Armenian-Russian International University. Armine has been serving in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia since 1995. She has a wide range of interests, and in her free time she likes to read, cook and sew. Armine is married and has one daughter.

Ashkhen Savtalyan

Military Officer
Ashkhen Savtalyan was born in Tashir, Lori region, where she lived 17 years before entering university. From 2010 to 2014, she studied Political Science at the Faculty of International Relations at Yerevan State University. In 2016, she received a Master's Degree in Political Science after completing the National Security Master's program at the same university. While studying, Ashkhen also volunteered at the FAR Children's Center and was volunteer editor at the American Studies Research Portal. In 2017, together with a group of young political scientists, she founded “The Armenian Interest” think tank, where she worked as a security expert and led the Center for Professional Development. Since March 2019, Ashkhen has been serving as an officer in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. Currently she works at the Human Rights and Integrity Building Centre of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.

Gary Kesayan and Alla Sahakyan

Musician
Gary Kesayan is one of the first Armenian jazzmen who started his activities in 1973 by creating the first Armenian jazz trio. He has conducted and participated in numerous concerts on different stages of the world and has worked with prominent musicians. Alla Sahakyan is a theater and movie actress, singer, and wife of Gary Kesayan. In 1999-2003 she studied at Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinematography and from 2004 to 2009 she continued her education at Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas. Since 2003, Alla Sahakyan has been working at the Sos Sargsyan Pan-National Theatre and at the Opera Studio of Yerevan State Conservatory. She has acted in more than 20 plays such as “The Time of Your Life” by William Saroyan, “The Snow Queen” by the Grimm Brothers, “Santa Cruz” by Max Frisch and many more.

Veronika Gevorgyan and Armen Marukyan

Veronika Gevorgyan was born in Kirovakan. She graduated from Vanadzor Basic School N27 in 1998, and from Vanadzor State College #1 after Soghomon Abovyan in 2000 with honors. After graduation, she entered Vanadzor State University after Hovhannes Tumanyan, Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Physics, where she graduated with honors in 2005, receiving a degree in Physics and Computer Science. In January 2008, she joined the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. Over the years of service, she received appreciation and rewards for her faithful and devoted service. Armen Marukyan was born in Kirovakan in a family of engineers. He graduated from Vanadzor High School N5 named after Vahan Teryan in 2000. From 2000 to 2004, he studied at Military University after Vazgen Sargsyan. He held various positions during his service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. Over the years of service, he received appreciation and numerous awards for her faithful and devoted service.
