This event occurred on
November 16, 2019
Goettingen, Niedersachsen
Germany

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anna Thomas

Master Student
For many years Anna felt not comfortable in her own skin and struggled with accepting her body until one incident has changed her attitude. With confidence she organized the photo exhibition Embody Yourself which she also took part in. Her hope is that people who feel bad about their bodies find courage to accept themselves the way they are through the exhibition as it depicts people how they really look without labeling them in any way. She believes that ugliness does only exist within but never outside.

In her talk the 3 in 1 journey, she‘ll share with us what helped her to reboot.

Diana Ismael

Assistant editor, Future of Food: Journal on Food, Agriculture and Society
After only three years in Germany, Diana’s work in Sensory Science was awarded ‘’The Prize of Excellence in Science’’ on the country-level for two consecutive years. Throughout her successful journey, Diana was fighting her biggest hurdle, her own inner voice. Her in-depth study on emotions and human senses enabled her a deeper understanding of the hidden keys of this sound. According to Diana, you could be your own worst enemy or your best friend, the choice is yours. On Saturday, she aims to share with you the ideas on how to reboot this sound and set a fruitful deal with it. By the way, if you are ever looking for Diana, you will find her relaxing in nature.
