In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Bethany Girma

Bethany Girma, while in her teens and like most of us, still trying to find her way, has accomplished so much as a young scholar. Having taken part in the International Baccalaureate Program for 4 years, Bethany has contributed numerous hours of service to her community while simultaneously working through academic challenges to achieve the IB Diploma. In addition she has received international awards and awards such as the Robert F. Lucas award for being an outstanding Lieutenant Governor in Key Club.

Florence Rogers

Florence Rogers is the CEO of Nevada Public Radio news station. Nevada Public Radio also publishes Desert Companion Magazine. They have radio stations all over Nevada including their music station in Reno NV 89. Flo came to the US in 1988 to be a student at San Diego State University and has worked in radio and media since she graduated from there. Flo was on the NPR national board for 6 years.

Uri Clinton

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Uri Clinton served as the Senior Vice President of Global Development at MGM shortly before being promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of Empire City Casino in New York. He obtained his Law Degree from Gonzaga University right before gaining his MBA from Vanderbilt University.
