In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Charles Burke

Lecturer
Dr. Charles Burke is a Lecturer in the University Scholars Programme at the National University of Singapore. He holds degrees in Environmental Studies, Political Science, and Geography, and is a major proponent of interdisciplinary learning. His ultimate goal is seamlessly to integrate the web into higher education classrooms to facilitate learning through knowledge product development.

Devesh Narayanan

Devesh is a fourth-year undergraduate at NUS, majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in philosophy.

Jackie Tan

Jackie was the CEO and co-founder of fundMyLife, a Q&A-based insurtech startup. He is currently finishing up his PhD at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) while serving as the Chief Academic Officer of UpCode Academy, a coding academy.

Martin Henz

Martin Henz is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing (SoC) and Faculty of Engineering (FoE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Henz has focussed on experiential learning in the past 10 years in his educational initiatives at NUS, including multi-disciplinary projects, seafaring voyages and a freshmen programming course with more than 400 students.

Mohammed Fayyaz

Fayyaz is a freshman at the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Social Science (NUS FASS), pursuing a major in Political Science. His research interests include contemporary social issues in Singapore and public policy analysis.

Qi Siang Ng

Ng Qi Siang is a year four History major and Global Affairs minor at Yale-NUS College. Passionate about policy issues and current affairs, he has a special interest in education and has advocated for policies such as the abolition of streaming and improving access to Third Language instruction.

Shriya Sharma

Shriya is now a year 3, undergraduate in National University of Singapore (NUS), studying Political Science and Communication Studies. She has an interest in theoretically understanding the evolution of communication, in a rapidly digitalised society, which now provides multiple points of contact between people. She's also interested in staying abreast with the contemporary politics and hopes to pursue political journalism in the future.

Yang Han

Yang Han is a Biological Science undergraduate at the National University of Singapore. With a dream to make the world a better place he explores every opportunity he gets to inspire,connect and bring new ideas to light. One day he hopes to achieve what he has set out to do and hopefully “make a difference, not just a living”.
