In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Emily Valencia

Student
Emily Valencia, 17, is a senior at Adolfo Camarillo High School. Her whole life, she has been performing in dance recitals, musical roles, and now, for the first time, speaking about her sexual assault experience to a crowd of people. Emily lives in Camarillo with her parents, her two siblings and her cat, George. She is a member of Camarillo High’s Vocal Ensemble team, as well as their Color Guard team and Drama department.

Gabriel Breeze

Student

Haley Jeffers

Student
Haley Jeffers is a junior at Rancho Campana High School. She is the founder and CEO of a startup company, and is just as happy debating about the Belt and Road Initiative as diving into the Internet for a cure to eczema or discussing the latest twist on Webtoons.

Jonathon Martinez

Student
I’m a 17-year-old student, and musician. I go by the name Presence online. I gained popularity on YouTube through songs I would write, and then perform in the backseat of my dad’s car. I’m very introverted, but have a passion to inspire others, which is a very conflicting concept, but I do my best to work through it nonetheless.

Naomi Zhang

Student
Naomi Zhang is currently a tenth grader at Rancho Campana HS. Throughout the course of her life, she’s dabbled in a bit of everything. Now, she’s a jack of all trades, master of none. Nonetheless, she hopes to improve in her hobbies: art and songwriting.
