In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adam Ocharski

Head of Buisness Intelligence Area in a Polish Bank
Adam Ocharski is currently the head of Business Intelligence and Data Science Area in the Polish division of Polish Bank. He specializes and takes an interest in artificial Intelligence, demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans and animals. He has focused on data science, which is a multidisciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data. In his free time, he attends lectures at the University of Wrocław as a guest speaker.

Adriano Jannacos

Teacher, Dancer
Adriano Jannacos would like to inspire the audience by telling them his personal background and how his collateral passions (meditation, languages and Caribbean dances) changed and inspired his life. He is also an anthropologist, who specialised in Internet addiction disorders. He worked with kids for many years, also as a volunteer educator, and helped them with their problems. Jannacos is also a teacher of languages.

Agnieszka Sorokowska

Psychologist, Traveler
Dr Agnieszka Sorokowska is a psychologist that specialises in social psychology and non-verbal communication. In her scientific research, she focuses on the role of sense of smell in human interpersonal communication. Besides doing research all over the globe she gives seminars in the psychology institute on the Wroclaw University.

Daniel Weiss

Artist and LGBTQ Activist
Daniel Weiss is a young artist, who focuses his projects in the area of the LGBTQ community. He is a non-binary person and aims to spread knowledge about different sexual orientations and identities. Weiss is also speaking up about the quality of art classes, including its knowledge. Recently, he has published a LGBTS focused magazine called Queer After Gay.

Dongmin Seo

Student
Dongmin Seo is a high school student, who is deeply interested in the languages, countries and traveling all around the world. He focuses on the impact of globalisation on everyday life.

Karolina Mikołajczyk

Fashion Designer
Karolina Mikołajczyk is a Polish fashion designer who has won a national competition called “Złota Nitka” translated - Gold Thread. Not even a year following her award, her collection was chosen to be featured during Paris Fashion Week. She designs clothes for names such as Brodka, Bovska and Natalia Kukulska. Apart from her creative work, Ms Mikołajczyk is concerned with the ethical production of fashion and joins us now to talk about the price of fashion.

Karolina Riemen - Żerebecka

Ski cross skier
Karolina Riemen-Żerebecka is a Polish freestyle skier a former Alpine skier. She specializes in ski cross. She has participated in the 2010 Winter Olympics as a Polish representative. She placed 26th in the qualifying round in ski cross, thus qualifying for the knockout stages. She finished second in her first-round heat to make the quarterfinals. She then finished fourth in her quarterfinal race, and did not advance. Riemen made her World Cup debut in January 2008. Her best World Cup overall finish in ski cross is 11th, in 2012/13. Riemen was in coma because she severely injured due to an accident. Despite many doctors assuring her that she will never be able to breathe on her own, she came back to skiing due to her faith and hard work, proving her own injuries wrong. Her passion towards skiing is unbelievable, and her experience unmatched.

Marek Kaczmarzyk

Biologist
Dr Marek Kaczmarzyk is a biologist, neurodidactist and memetist. He promotes evolutionary didactics - an area dealing with the recognition and practical use of the biological and cultural influence of evolution on learning processes. He specializes in the functioning of adolescent brains and its neuroplasticity - the changes that occur in the brain. He has published many books on this subject, including "School of neurons: about teenagers, compromises and upbringing." He already has experience with TED talks, as he has participated in them a few times already. Dr Kaczmarzyk initiated and is the main organizer of the Polish Symposium of Scientific Neurodidactics, which takes place every year at the Biology Department at the Silesian University in Katowice. In his spare time, he writes fantasy novels.

Piotr Wojtasik

Journalist
Piotr Wojtasik is an energetic, positive journalist and traveller who has been working with celebrities for over ten years. Fascinated by video production, he is a reporter for a famous Polish programme, Dzień Dobry TVN. He was responsible for photoshoots production for the most important Polish magazines.

Rafał Kubacki

Rafał Kubacki is a 17-time Polish judo champion and 2-time judo world champion. He also played Ursus in a polish movie titled “Quo Vadis”.Currently, he is a lecturer at Wrocław Academy of Physical Education and an ambassador of the “Ukemi: school of safety landing” project, which involves more than 40 schools that teach children the arts of not falling.
