Dr. Khurram Sadiq

Consultant Psychiatrist, blogger, musician, passionate activist
Dr. Khurram Sadiq is a Consultant Psychiatrist, blogger, musician, passionate activist and soon to be vlogger. He is a public speaker who has appeared in many talk shows and TV interviews around the globe, talking about the mental health, well-being and psychological issues. He is working on bringing widespread awareness about autism to Pakistan, especially through TV interviews and delivering talks in Pakistan. He is also in the process of developing linkages with leading Pakistani schools to bring acceptance of psychological issues in students.

Dr. Sadia Malick

Gynecologist and Obstetrician, Advocate of Maternal Health Policy Guidelines
As an experienced gynecologist and obstetrician, Dr. Sadia Malick raised the very crucial issue of maternal healthcare, during and after pregnancy. Her talk focused on the causes of increasing rates of maternal and new born mortality and the steps we can take to reduce them. She shared her experiences on how interventions can enable trauma stricken individuals and families to have renewed hope and happiness. Dr. Sadia Malick is the leading consultant at Early Pregnancy Unit Corniche Hospital, UAE. She has been practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology for over 25 years. She was been awarded the Women’s Leadership Award in Dubai. She has a profound interest in teaching and has received an excellence award in teaching from the University of Birmingham, UK. She has been working in the mountainous areas of KPK for over a decade on transport projects to help reduce maternal mortality. Currently, she is working in Azad Kashmir for establishing a women’s health training institute.

Momin Saqib

Student Leader
The young and enthusiastic, Momin Saqib is a student activist, youth influencer and social-media personality. He has shown remarkable leadership skills by becoming the first ever non-European Student Union President of the prestigious, King’s College London, in its 144 years long and impressive history. He has travelled extensively as an ambassador for King’s College London. He has vast experience in public speaking especially resonating with diversified audiences, across age limits. His unique blend of humour, wit and intellect has garnered him a strong and loyal following on all social media platforms, where he misses no opportunity to tackle social taboos and raise awareness about psychological and mental health. Achieving wonders at such a young age, he inspires others with the conviction that hard work and fearlessness can help one to reach beyond the stars…

Qurratul Ain Shamim

‘How to Turn your Angst into Art’ Qurratul Ain Shamim
Tackling a painful challenge in her childhood, she has mastered the art of turning her negative thoughts, frustration and angst into creating art — through words, witticisms and quality humour. Her talk is a masterclass on how to channelize negativity into positivity, and discover hidden treasures within oneself to conquer all horizons and reach beyond the stars. Qurratul Ain Shamim is an architect by day and a Karachi-based stand-up comedian by evening. A strong woman who has reached beyond the stars, Qurat-ul-Ain has performed with the Lol-Waalay, the Platoon, and the first all-female comedy troupe in South Asia — Auratnaak; her theatrical experience has earned her well-deserved acclaim in Pakistan.

Shawaz Hussain Baluch

Motivational Speaker, Trainer and Ex Naval Pilot
This talk is based on the journey of a pilot who, after becoming visually impaired, overcame his adversities and turned them into blossoming opportunities for himself. Shawaz Hussain Baluch shares his ingredients of personal vision in a moving talk based on his life experiences. This talk is an eye opener on how to tackle mental and physical disabilities and immobilizers, to live life to the fullest for the benefit of others. Mr. Shawaz Hussain Baluch, is a motivational speaker and trainer. He is the first visually impaired PMP (USA) and PRINCE2 (UK) certified trainer, and has delivered many motivational talks at renowned public and private platforms, after he lost his sight in the line of duty. Formerly, he was a Lt. Commander, and a pilot in Pakistan Navy. Currently, he is serving as an Assistant Professor in Bahria University, Lahore, and has previously held positions of Business, Project and Programme Director at acclaimed NGOs for community service in Pakistan.

Tasveer Saaz Mime House, a group of mime artists, presented a special mime at TEDxLCWU 2019: Beyond the Stars. The performance featured music by Bayaan the Band and reaffirmed the value of cherishing our dear ones. Only by re-establishing connections and acknowledging the roles of our loved ones, can we truly become somebody and aspire to reach Beyond the Stars. The skilled members of Tasveer Saaz Mime team are: - Hamza bin Ishaque, the Head of Team Tasveer Saaz, Director, and writer -Production team: Sawera Shakeel, Saddaam Haseeb, Huzaifa Kaleem - Actors: Arooj Akhter, Jawad Ahmed, Bushra Sarwar, Ali Rehman, Rohaan Talat Butt who is also the Music Coordinator, Minahil Tariq, Shoaib Ahmed Javed, Shae Mureed Nazeer - Syed Burhan Zaidi, the Light Engineer -Sobhaan Elahi, Spotlight Coordinator -Make-up artists/costume designers: Humaira Saghir, Ramshah Fayyaz Their performance left a vivid impression which moved each mind to perceive its meaning in a different color.
