Anna Duhen

Secondary school student

Ze is een leerling op onze school en zit momenteel in het zesde jaar van het gymnasium. Ze is altijd al enorm goed geweest in het geven van presentaties en kon deze mooie kans niet aan haar voorbij laten gaan. Haar speech zal gaan over waarom wij als mensen hier op aarde zijn en zij wil deze speech vooral geven voor mensen die net als haarzelf zoekende zijn naar een reden voor bestaan.

Anouk Willems

PHD Neurobiology, Physiology, Nutrition, and Microbiology.

Currently I am a PhD at Van Hall Larenstein in collaboration with Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. I am researching the effects of different dietary patterns on psychological and somatic symptoms and the gut microbiota. My project is called "Eten voor de Wetenschap", or Eating for Science. My fields of interest are Neurobiology, Physiology, Nutrition, and Microbiology. Besides that I am becoming more and more interested and involved in Scientific Communication. I keep getting surprised by the effects food can have on us and am very much interested in making everyone a little bit healthier and, above all, happier with the right dietary pattern. Besides being interested in research I like to spend my time on and next to the athletics track. I enjoy training and volunteering at different competitions.

Erwin van Lun

Futurist, Entrepreneur

Erwin is a Dutch futurist, CEO of Chatbots.org and professional speaker. His book ‘Van Massamerk naar Mensmerk’, about the future of media, marketing & brands, was nominated for the Dutch Marketing Literature Awards in 2005. Erwin has a background in artificial intelligence (Delft University of Technology, MSc. in Electrical Engineering, thesis on AI 1993) and branding (Master of Brand Management, Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Netherlands, 2005). One of his long-term predictions was the rise of chatbots: humanlike characters with superior artificial intelligence representing and acting on behalf of commercial brands, NGO’s and governmental organizations. Between 2012 and 2016 he specialized in the ability of humans (and any other species) to recover themselves from any disease and become 100 without hurdles.

Jair Santanna

(Cyber)Security Specialist, (Big)Data Analyst, R&D, Science Communicator

I am currently an assistant professor at University of Twente. In the period between 2013 and 2017, I was a Ph.D. candidate at the same university. A number of solutions proposed in my Ph.D. thesis were deployed by network operators worldwide and some methodologies will be used by the Dutch High Tech Crime Unit. During my Ph.D., I also acted as technical advisor to the Dutch National Cyber Security Center and to the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, both on the topic of Cyber Security and DDoS attacks. I presented my work in more than 30 countries. The most frequent words to describe my presentations/lectures by attendees are enthusiastic, entertaining and easy to understand (see more at http://jairsantanna. com/others_judgement). My professional objective is to become an internationally recognized researcher and teacher in Internet security, DDoS attack, and (big) data analysis.

Marcus Zabel

secondary school student

Marcus zit in 6 vwo. Hij zet zich graag in voor onze school. Dit doet hij door zijn mening te laten horen via het debatteam en door problemen op te lossen samen met de leerlingenraad. Hij zal zijn verhaal beginnen op zijn internationale stage in Oman, waar hij vorig schooljaar is geweest.

Ze is een leerling op onze school en zit momenteel in het 5de jaar van het atheneum. Ze zit haar graag in voor het klimaat, dit doet ze onder andere door projecten via de leerlingenraad en door te staken in Den Haag. Haar vader is vandaag de motivatie voor het geven van haar speech.
