In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alma Nicole Bioangiu

Alma Nicole Bioangiu is an actress and a musician. She has received numerous national and international music awards. Alma is one of the finalists of the latest "Vocea României" season, where she had Tudor Chirilă as a mentor.

Andrei Nuțu

Visual Artist
At first a student of the ,,Arte.ro" community, and later at the "Victor Brauner" Art Highschool in Piatra Neamț, he became recognised on a national and international level for his talent. In 2014 Andrei became coordinator of a workshop on iconography in Hong Kong, thus highlighting the importance of faith in art. No good deed goes unnoticed, so Andrei was a finalist at the "Expo Marathon 2018" where he won multiple awards, including the Public's Favourite Prize, received for the "Metanoia" project.

Ciprian Iacob

Ciprian Iacob is a talented creative mind and music coordinator, a film music composer, with more than 10 years of experience in the industry gained through numerous fruitful projects in Romania, the UK, France and the US. His film scores have participated in more than 30 festivals worldwide, from London or Glasgow, to Cannes and Los Angeles. His past collaborations included the center stage performance in The Masterpiece event-concert in 2014, a project that involved top industry names such as Hans Zimmer, Thomas Bergersen, or Uyanga Bold. Cristi Danileț

Judge, Educator, NGO Activist
Cristi Danileț began his activity as a judge at the Vatra Dornei District Court, in 1998. On the 15th of May 2001 he started work as a judge at the Cluj Napoca District Court, and in September 2004 as a judge at the Cluj County Court. Between the 18th of January 2005 and the 21st of May 2007 he worked as a counselor for the Ministry of Justice. After the 22nd of May 2007 he came back to the Cluj County Court, alter being appointed as vicepresident of the Oradea County Court. From January 2011 to January 2017, Cristi Danileț was a member of the Superior Council of Magistracy. He has worked on a multitude of projects meant for the educatioon of the youth in matters of Law.

Doina Hendre Biro

Doctor in History at Sorbona University (Paris, France), "Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" medalist
Doina Hendre Biro has a doctorate in history at the Sorbonne. She was awarded the title and medal of the "Order of Arts and Letters in Knighthood" ("Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres") for her efforts to promote French language and culture. The "Chevalier de l'ordinre des Arts et des Lettres" medal awarded by the French state was one of many honors awarded to Mrs. Hendre Biro besides "One of the 100 Romanian faces in the context of the centennial year of the Great Union "("Una dintre cele 100 de Chipuri românești în contextul anului centenar al Marii Uniri"). Currently, he works at the Batthyaneum Library, a branch of BNaR, a scientific and cultural counselor at the Alba Iulia City Hall and a collaborating lecturer at the National Institute for Vocational Training in Culture, MCIN.

Ian Tilling

Founder and President of the "Casa Ioana" organisation
Ian Tilling is a founding member of the "Casa Ioana" organisation and has been the chairman of the organization since its inception in 1995. Prior to joining the non-profit sector, Ian was a police officer in the UK for 23 years. Once in Romania, he was a project manager with Joanne Trust before launching Casa Ioana. Trust was responsible for creating a resource center for NGOs in Bucharest, where organizations received a place and practical assistance to develop their projects. Ian hosted the visits to "Casa Ioana" of some important guests, including HRH Prince of Wales, King Michael and Queen Ana of Romania, Andrew Vorkink (Deputy President of the World Bank), Abbot Pierre of France, Dr Xavier Emmanuelli, Founder Samu- social and a large number of foreign ambassadors in Romania. In 2002 he received the "Ordinul Serviciului Credincios" as an officer of the President of Romania for the development of professional social assistance services in Romania.

Irina Margareta Nistor

Cinema critic, Translator, Interpreter
Originally from Bucharest and known for her passion for cinema, Irina Margareta Nistor is one of the most appreciated film critics in the country. Under the communist regime, she worked as a translator for TVR, and is known for secretly duplicating over 3000 films recorded on video tapes and brought from the West, while being decorated with the Carol I medal. She was chief-editor of the magazines "Cinema Paradis" and "Preview", also collaborating with various Romanian and foreign newspapers and magazines. She has translated over 70 books, including dictionaries, plays, children's books, and novels from and to Romanian. She is presently the main organizer of the "Psychoanalysis and Film"("Psihanaliză și film") festival.

Maia Morgenstern

Famous actress of the Jewish State Theatre (in Romania), Manager of the Jewish State Teather (in Romania)
Maia Morgenstern is a famous theater and film actress from Romania. She was born in Bucharest, in a Jewish family. She studied at the Academy of Theater and Film between 1981 and 1985, after which he worked at the Piatra Neamţ "Teatrul Tineretului" until 1988. She appeared on the stage of the Jewish State Theater in Bucharest, joining the troupe at the Ion Luca Caragiale National Theater. Her notable roles include Lola Lola from "The Blue Angel" ("Der Blaue Engel") or Kathleen Hogan in "Your Car in Harvard Yard." Maia is known to the Romanian public and for her roles in the films "Balanta", "The most beloved of the earthly", "Passion of Christ". Since 2010 she is appointed ambassador for the Alliance of Civilizations in Romania.

Michael Bulzan

EMEA Regional Director, Duke University, Entrepreneur
Michael Bulzan is a well known businessman who has in his portfolio a car dealership, a management consulting firm and an advertising agency. He is also part of several NGOs, and the president of the "Ravi Zacharias International Ministries" Directorial Committee in Romania. Since 2013 he has been recruiting students to study Executive MBA at Duke University; he is currently regional director in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Radu Păltineanu

Ciclotrotter, Alpinist, Speaker
In 2013 he traveled in a team a large part of Scandinavia and Eastern Europe on bike (peste 2,400 de km) to raise awareness for the Roșia Montană mining project. In 2014 he traveled the entirety of Europe and Central Asia hitch-hiking. Having traveled 14,000 de km hitch-hiking from Paris to Teheran, in Iran, Radu decided to climb up to the Damavand peak (5671 m), the tallest vulcanic peak in Asia, which gave birth to the "7 Volcanic Summits" project. In 2015, Radu decided he would be the first Romanian to travel the Americas on bike, from Alaska to the south of Argentina, which he has now achived.

Victor Miron

Founder of the "Cărțile pe față" project, Writer
Victor Miron has become, through the campaign „Cărțile pe față”, a true online phenomenon. Victor has transformed reading into a show for "Românii au talent", and in his free time he promotes reading. „Cărțile pe față” became viral on the internet, vouching people to post a selfie with a book representative of them. Victor has worked towards providing free travel in Cluj for people who have a book on hand.He organises 'Reader Galas', an he is a TEDx Cluj curator.

Victor Purice

Manager of the "Mon Amour" Cinema in Piatra Neamț
Victor, with an admirable devotion to his passion, he did his best to prepare and become an apprentice to the operators of the Cinema Dacia Paronamic Cinema in Piatra-Neamt. Facing all the problems of the Romanian system, he managed to embrace his much-desired profession and even become its owner (1996). "Saving Dacia" - the campaign involving a volunteer team - was aimed at collecting over 9,000 lei for materials and repairs. The story of the Dacia cinematographer was made known to everyone thanks to director Alexandru Belc and his feature film "Cinema, mon amour".
