In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Nidhi Rao Belman

Nidhi Rao Belman is a final year law student on weekdays, and a self admitted couch potato on weekends, when she isn't working as a freelance public speaking trainer, or attending debates as a chair or a delegate. Inquisitive and introspective by nature, and a feminist by nurture, she attributes these traits to the fact that she comes from a household of 3 inspirational strong women and 2 adopted indie dogs she claims are her spirit animals. Besides travelling, and otherwise killing time with a paintbrush, self help book, or by compulsively cleaning/redecorating her room, Nidhi aspires to do more social work and advocacy in 2019, both online through social media and blogging platforms, and offline through field work with different organisations, and hopes that this talk is a stepping stone in that lifelong endeavour.

Currently a first-year diploma student studying at the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad, Raghav Pathak is an individual incredibly interested in the areas of socio-economic history, alongside cultural progression. By nature, he attempts to present an unbiased, objective interpretation on topics he speaks about, yet is significantly opinionated, skewing toward a liberalistic point of view. She is also a keen tabla player and is currently learning the violin. A person who tries to do her work by thinking out of the box, she believes in self-expression and embraces her inner creativity. Determination and perseverance are what she considers the true keys to success.

Tanya Verma & Group

This all-girl dance troupe performs originally choreographed dances to popular music.

Zohair Gandhi

A grade 11 IB student and a fairly new addition to the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad's student body, Zohair Gandhi brings his extensive leadership and debate expertise to the table. He's enthusiastic about science and technology and never misses out on an occasion to talk about these. When he's not fanboying over Elon Musk's next ingenious idea, he relishes playing the guitar, reading novels and comic books, watching movies and learning something new to keep his mind active. For example, during a period when he was really interested in close-up magic, Zohair totally thought that he could be the next David Copperfield. Unfortunately, people weren't fond of him producing cards randomly from behind their ears. There was also the time when he tried his hand (and his feet, of course) at skateboarding. All jokes aside, Zohair feels strongly about issues around the globe and tries his best to play his part in the larger scheme of things. He wishes to work in research in the future, hopefully answering humanity's biggest questions. He hopes that a day will come when education and basic necessities will be available to all - across borders, continents, and oceans - and he is willing to work to make sure that day arrives soon. In his talk, Zohair will concentrate on the issues of infinitely rising consumerism and how the individual must act beyond this in order to live a fuller life, with less.
