In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ailun Shi

Ailun Shi is a junior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. She participates in a variety of extracurricular activities, including competitive Speech and Debate.

Alison Kim

Alison Kim is a senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. Her biggest passions are tackling social injustices, especially through environmental science and journalism. She hopes to continue to pursue these passions by becoming a social worker and hopes to become a podcast producer as well.

Bonny Quan is a junior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School and is part of the Speech and Debate team.

Caroline Leach

Caroline Leach helps people and organizations tell their stories. A Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing in the Fortune 100 for a dozen years, Caroline founded The Carrelle Company to provide digital branding for people to grow their careers and companies through social media. She writes, researches, consults, speaks and teaches on this topic. She enjoys spending time with her family, all Peninsula High School graduates and a soon-to-be graduate. She's conflicted during the college football season, because she has an MA in communications management from USC and a BA in economics from UCLA. Josh Kim is a senior at PVPHS and has a big passion for public speaking. He was beyond thrilled and grateful to have had the opportunity to share his story and ideas.

Kaylen Ng is a senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School with a big passion for video production.

Mishal Imaan Syed

Mishal is a junior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. She enjoys writing, conducting scientific research, playing piano, and drawing. She has two younger sisters and a collection of novel manuscripts. She hopes to pursue pediatric medicine in conbination with writing in the future.

Tim Hall

Tim Hall is in his 26th year teaching English at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. During that time, he has coached surfing, soccer, and softball. His professional experiences have introduced him to multiple wise mentors whose patience and wisdom have guided him on his path. He includes among his greatest blessings the opportunity to work with inspiring teachers and students and is most grateful for his boundless source of happiness, his family.
