In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Born 1950 ( now age 69) College undergraduate , Bonifacio who was a working student who attended night school in UST where he took courses in the fields Electronics Engineering. Having started working at age 16, Bonifacio was sent to Japan several times for technical trainings during his college days. Mr. Ty started doing business with the Sharp copier business where he served as an exclusive distributor in the Philippines since 1978 till present, he is currently employing over 250 people, and have founded his own IT business 5 years ago which is now starting to target global market with one of it's bases in Singapore.

Judy Lao

Mrs. Lao is a 3rd generation Chinese born in the Philippines. Having studied in St. Stephen’s High School from 1958-1970, she graduated from University of Santo Tomas College of Architecture & Fine Arts in 1974. Mrs. Judy is the Founder of JuD’s Fruitcakes, established 1975. Mrs. Lao joined the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation in 1998 and is currently the Head of Tzu Chi Department of Communications.

Many years ago I found myself on a tour of a strip mine in New Mexico. We came over a small hill to see this giant hole as big as a mountain. At this amazing location, I remember picking a rock off the ground. A grizzled old geologist who happened to be standing nearby said “What you got there?” I showed him the odd colored stone and he shook his head. “Wow, this stone tells an amazing tale”. He proceeded to tell a long story that happened 250 million years ago. Just like the story told by this old scientist, I am going to give my TED talk on how scientists tell stories about the past. My story is based on the partial skeleton of a 70 million-year old plesiosaur that I found on winter day along a cold empty country road near the town of Center Nebraska. My talk will explain how we scientists know about things that happened before anyone was born; how we can tell what the weather was like; what animals ate; how they lived; and even how some of them died and were eaten by other animals.
