Theme: Think Small

We are creating a theme for 2019 named- Think Small. The talks will revolve around various subjects and will present their perspective of 'small'. The idea revolves around various fields such as art, education, technology, music, environment conservation. The theme could address the literal small in technology that is the use of nano technology and how the size of electronic appliances are shrinking by the day. Whereas, thinking small in the art world could be the miniature representations of large or medium sized objects. Meanwhile in the education world, it could be about how learning is moving from the blackboard to a laptop and now to a tablet (diminishing in size). In the film world it could talk about making short movies and brilliant ad films which communicate a bigger message, intelligently within the shortest amount of time. Whereas, in the global population scenario it could mean "smaller and smaller" space for each species to survive in, metaphorically, talking about population explosion, species endangerment and global warming. In the marketing and advertisement sphere, it could talk about the shift from Hoardings and Billboards to the power of reaching your customers through the mobile phones.

Sexuality Educator + Author

Sex Educator and Founder of UnTaboo, which is a Sexuality & Safety Education Company, founded in 2011 to empower children and teenagers with the right knowledge, attitudes, skills and values to make appropriate and healthy choices and thus help raise a generation of responsible young adults. They offer Sexuality & Safety education Programs in schools and out of schools. This is offered using the medium of Workshops & Theatre. She authored a book on Sex education for children titled HOW I GOT MY BELLY BUTTON which is on #1 at Amazons hot new sellers list.

Ashita Nath

She is a qualified teacher with an experience of 10 years. She has been involved in various social projects including working with street kids and setting up a home for rescued children. In 2016, she and her husband founded a school in rural Unnao (UP) with an aim to provide good education to rural girls for free. One of the things they focus on is introducing agriculture as a main subject right from the beginning. The Good Harvest School is a collective effort to help young girls from farming community to stand abreast with the rest of the world.

Kopal Goyal

Filmmaker + Rockclimber

She is a rock climber and extreme sports documentary filmmaker. Her previous film was about India's hardest climbing route "Ganesha 8b+" which won the best climbing film award at Indian Mountain Foundation film festival last year and chosen for all India tour. Her recent project is "Project Wild Women" which covers 16 women athletes in 12 extreme sports in India. The trailer of the film has won people's choice award at IMF film festival last year and was on all India tour. The film is going to release this April (2019).

Monishwaran Maheswaran

I am a high school student, initially classified as a child prodigy, I went to Harvard to work under their mathematics professor. I have been finding intriguing mathematical theorems and computer science applications to help in the diagnosis of schizophrenia and Alzheimers at NIMHANS. I have also worked on a system using machine learning to help the visually impaired people to navigate the surroundings. Apart from sciences, I have also authored a C++ book, which has become an all time favourite of several teachers at BIT, BMS and IIT. I’m also collaborating with Microsoft to build quantum algorithms for quantum computers. I have established a non-profit—Do it for Knowledge—that facilitates in donating books to the underprivileged kids, an initiative called Run for cancer that focus on the life of children suffering from cancer. Recently, I have collaborated with sense kaleidoscope to build a new, universal, standardized curriculum for autistic students.

Rohaan Goswami

Entrepreneur + Humanitarian Engineer + Storyteller

Rohaan Goswami is the COO and Director of Product Design at Ycenter. He is the chief architect of Ycenter’s global experiential learning platform EPIC. He is also in charge of driving Ycenter's worldwide expansion programs, specifically in Asia and the Middle East. He works as the Creative Director at ProjectOne, a non-profit media collective that he founded in 2016 to research on & celebrate human diversity. Rohaan is frequently invited as a visiting faculty / guest speaker for Design Thinking, Social Innovation and Sustainable Technology domains across top universities including IIT-Bombay, IIT-Roorkee and ISDI, and also as a keynote speaker & advisor for international organizations, policy makers and conferences including Shell Foundation, IEEE and Unite 2030. In November 2017, Rohaan was invited as a delegate from India to the Misk Global Forum in Riyadh, in association with the United Nations Development Program.
