Theme: Emerge

This event occurred on

To emerge is to appear, to become apparent. It is a word that often brings to mind this image of something big-something important- appearing from the dark; from the unexpected. And the fact is that is what great ideas often do. While yes, they are usually developed, refined, and worked on to become even better, and even more impactful, they must first appear from somewhere or the other. It could be from observing your surroundings, a simple interaction, or even your own imagination. No matter where they come from, we can all agree that there is no barrier or limit for ideas; they can appear from anywhere. And once they do emerge, they can make a big difference.

At TEDxEMWS this year, we want to celebrate this phenomenon. We want to celebrate the emergence of unique and truly spectacular ideas within our local community by giving the stage to the minds behind some of them. We are looking for ideas that haven’t been seen before, ideas that have a great impact on society: ideas that have emerged and must be reckoned with.
