At TEDxMurtalaSquare, we are creating two things: a Conference, and a Community. We will host one highly anticipated conference in March 2019, where live Speakers will interact with audience to explore a range of new, important, and often little-heard ideas and perspectives.

We are focused on proffering a TED stage to speakers of varied backgrounds and experiences for inspirational and intellectual acceleration. Our event strategically allocates a window for collaboration of arts, sciences, entrepreneurship and women empowerment - ideas that are close to our central theme: Dare to be different

Abayomi Elebute

Data Analyst Software Engineer
Abayomi Elebute is an alumnus of the prestigious Covenant University, Nigeria where he received a bachelor's degree in Sociology (BSc. Sociology, 2007) As a student of Sociology, Abayomi contrastingly loved and explored the technology landscape and he soon became a go to person for his colleague's technology needs which occasionally involved repairs and troubleshooting of their computers/laptops. On completion of his undergraduate studies in 2007, Abayomi became a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) before proceeding to serve his nation in the National Youth Service Corps scheme. In 2009, Abayomi applied to a technology company in Lagos as a voluntary software developer. Knowing fully well that it meant more work than pay, he wasn't deterred. He was most interested in the knowledge of building systems that will provide simple solutions to complex challenges in his society

Aishatu Yusha'u Armiya'u

Forensic Psychiatrist
Dr. Aishat holds a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery Degree (MBBS) from Bayero University Kano. A Fellow of both National Postgraduate Medical of Nigeria and West African College of Physicians in the Faculty of psychiatry, and an International Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Aishat holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Forensic Psychology and Criminal Investigation from the University of Liverpool and currently in her final year at the Texila American University studying PhD in Psychiatry with a subspecialty in Forensic Psychiatry. She is Currently a consultant forensic psychiatrist at the Jos University Teaching Hospital Plateau state Nigeria and the consultant psychiatrist in-charge of the Jos Maximum security prison. She has received outstanding recognition for her leadership in the field of Mental Health, as well as for her community service activities. She has over fifty published papers in peered reviewed journals, monographs and books.

Andrew Agbo-Madaki

Cyber security expert and communication consultant
Andrew is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants Nigeria. A Cyber Security and ePayment consultant with 10 years’ experience in information security, cyber threat and payments. He has 5 years experience in media and communications. With an Msc in Computer Forensics from the University of South Wales and a BSc in Sociology from the Benue State University Andrew is currently pursuing a PhD in Security and Strategic Studies. He is currently the lead consultant and CEO of Decy-4 Technologies Limited, an Information Security and Payments consultancy. He has provided consultancy services for World Bank,irrational Innovations (a venture capital/builder from Israel), UNICEF, Word Food Programme, well as provide guidance for several startups such as TechHerNG, Projaro, ChowHub and Enspire Incubator.

Bayo Omoboriowo

Photojournalist, Documentary Photographer
A renowned award winning freelance photographer who has an unwavering passion for development hence the nature of photography he has been involved in, which he simply calls ‘Reality Photography’. Although, a graduate of Pure and Applied Chemistry from University of Lagos, He believes the pictures he takes today are materials of communication for tomorrow and these drives him all around Nigeria and beyond as he tells the story of everyday reality. His works have been widely published and remain as one of the most used materials on social media platforms. With his series on Nigerian Unsung Heroines which was featured on CNN, he is on a mission to celebrate exceptional people contributing to the development of Nigeria. He has exhibited his work titled ‘Red Gold’ which is a body of work calling the attention of the Nigerian government to the once upon a time bubbling palm oil production industry and the revamping of the agricultural sector as a whole.

Bello Shagari

Youth leader, Film maker
Bello Shagari AKA Belshagy is a graduate of Business Information Systems & Information Technology from Middlesex University London. Shortly after his graduation in 2012, he voluntary taught as a teacher in a primary and secondary schools at his hometown Shagari. Soon after, he founded Barcode Multimedia Ltd. single handedly with a profit he made off his first documentary proposal. Consequently, he became very much involved in documentary production, especially in the aspects of politics, history and advocacy. Hence, produced, directed and edited a number of videos and documentaries. Although many of them are still in the works. One of such documentaries is a multi-million naira project which began in 2013 named "One Nation, One Destiny", a documentary of the history of Nigeria focusing on President Shehu Shagari's long experiences since pre-independence to his eventual emergence as Nigeria's first executive president in 1979.

Gloria Mabeiam Ballason

Lawyer and law Columnist
Gloria Mabeiam Ballason is a lawyer and the CEO of House of Justice, Nigeria, a human-rights radio call-in program, of which she is the host. She is also the Law columnist in a national newspaper. She serves at a regional level as a conflict mediator for the herder-farmer conflict that has claimed so many lives. Gloria's passion for justice for victims of medical negligence and atrocities has led to the establishment of the Molluma Yakubu Loma Center for Medical Law, where she is executive director. Gloria has a degree in Law, a master's in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, a second master's in International Affairs and Strategic Studies, and is pursing a third master's in Law (LLM). Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she will draw from this experience to better enhance the concept of social justice for the underprivileged and for victims of medical negligence and atrocities.

Hauwa Ojeifo

Mind and mental health coach, Neuro-linguistic Programmer
Hauwa Ojeifo is a multi-award winning certified Mind and Mental health coach, and Neuro- Linguistic Programming, Emotional Freedom Techniques therapy practitioner. Following multiple sexual abuses, her near suicide attempt and double diagnoses of bipolar and posttraumatic stress disorder, Hauwa uses her experience and expertise to advocate against sexual violence, for mental health across individuals, groups, schools and organisations. She is the Founder and current Executive Director at She Writes Woman - an award-winning movement of love, hope and support that gives mental health a voice in Nigeria. In July 2016, she initiated the first mental health crisis helpline in Nigeria and the only women-only mental health support group in October 2016 which now has presence in 4 states. Hauwa holds an MSc in Investment Banking & Islamic Finance from Henley Business School, University of Reading, England

imoh Umoren

Film director, Movie maker
Imoh Umoren is a multiple award winning film director and TV Producer who won an AMVCA for his experimental film Hard Times which is Nollywood's first Black and White/Silent film and has gone on to direct the critically-acclaimed The Happyness Limited and Children of Mud which is an official selection for the American Black Film Festival and the Toronto International Nollywood Festival and was nominated in 4 categories at the 2018 AMVCAs including Best Movie West Africa.His Heist thriller Club was in cinemas nationwide. Imoh also directed the hugely successful crime drama Oghenekome which premiered on Mnet and has run for 40 episodes..His new sitcom "Chairman" is currently showing and just finished his new film Lagos:Sex,Lies and Traffic. Along with these he has directed several commercials and reality shows.

Maryam Bukar Hassan

Poet, Motivational Speaker, Entrepreneur
Maryam Bukar Hassan, a.k.a Alhanislam, is a poet and an exponent of the spoken word, who has performed at major festivals and events including the Ake Arts and Book Festival and the Kaduna Book and Arts Festival. Over the years, her work has received critical acclaim, and she recently released her album titled “IN THE HEART OF SILENCE”, which contains one of the poems she delivered at the 2017 Ake Arts and Book Festival. As the founder of Deen-at-Heart, an organization that focuses on the moral re-engineering of the youth, she is a renowned motivational speaker, and also an active core member of the creative clan. She is the pioneer of the Deen-at-Heart foundation, under which She runs a counselling platform known as “THE HELPLINE” that offers support and counseling to young people in real time and also "THE REVERT PACKAGE" that is responsible for educating and providing basics for reverts.

Always thirsty for knowledge and with a clear goal to increase his relevance in the oil and gas sector, He subsequently bagged the following degrees; Masters in Oil and Gas Law from The Robert Gordon, Aberdeen Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Oil and Gas Operations and Supply Chain Management from the University of Liverpool MBA (Markerting) from the Dangote Business School, Bayero University Kano He is the Sales Lead at Enyo Retail and Supply Limited, a fast-growing oil and gas downstream company that is changing the downstream petroleum industry. Othman Abdulrasheed is the author and convener of P.U.S.H [Propel Urself to Someplace Higher], a motvational and self-help book and a masterclass that has helped its readers and attendees to attain limitless mindset, and achieve amazing goals. Othman has worked in downstream oil and gas since 2010.

Panshak Zamani better known by his stage name Ice Prince, was the most streamed African rapper on Spotify in 2018. He is a Nigerian hip hop recording artist and actor. He rose to fame after releasing Oleku one of Nigeria’s most remixed songs of all time. He won the 2009 Hennessy Artistry Club Tour. His achievements include one BET Award, one Ghana Music Award, three The Headies Awards, two Nigeria Entertainment Awards and two Channel O Music Video Awards. He was Formally, signed to the Label Chocolate City, Where he was the Vice President between 2015-2016. Ice prince currently owns his own label imprint Super Cool Cats .

Sa’id is a Communications & Media Graduate with a Masters in Advertising and over seven years of freelance, voluntary and professional experience in communications, journalism, graphic design and community development. He has been awarded a Teacher’s Prize for Extra-curricular activity and was a finalist for the Inspirational Star category of Rock Recruitment’s Rockstar awards in 2014. Sa’id is passionate about childhood development and education, and is the founder of Initiative For Aid & Educational Development 2011, a non profit focused around organizing Annual outreach programs, social events, charity sports matches and summer school programs.

Sanusi Ismaila

Sanusi Ismaila founded and runs two tech companies and an Innovation Hub: Precognition, PrecogMedia and CoLab. At Precognition he provides businesses with bespoke technology solutions to their most pressing problems. At Precogmedia, (which is an offshoot of his hobby: Techsuplex—one of the leading Nigerian technology sources) he’s trying to create content and media for the millennial African, and Africans of the future. He is also the founder of CoLab, Northern Nigeria’s first innovation hub and Kaduna’s first Co-working space. Before starting out on his own, he spent 5 years in various positions making MTN Nigeria a better place.

He has written numerous articles about political and social issues, some of which have been published in various national dailies. He is passionate about youth mentoring as he has a belief that there is a deficiency in mentorship especially in Northern Nigeria.

Chef Zeelicioussss (Mrs Zara Mustapha-Nagoma), a British Chef who is of Nigerian, Cameroonian, Chadian & Libyan descent is a social media personality, professional chef and an ardent food lover. Growing up, Chef Zeelicioussss always had a passion for food. Although she holds BA (Hons) in Journalism & Media studies, she decided to follow her dreams and pursue her love and passion for Culinary Arts. She has worked in some of the most popular restaurants in the UK including Wagamama & Bella Italia and went on to take a professional Culinary Arts course. She was the first ever Brand Ambassador for Dangote Salt and DanQ seasoning and has also worked with Mr Chef. She is a the Executive Chef & Partner at the Red Dish Culinary School, where together with a team of passionate chefs, are molding the next generation of domestic and commercial chefs.
