In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Eugene Cassidy

Dr. Cassidy earned his PhD in history from the University of Michigan. The history of race was a central part of his research.

Haley Hoffman Smith

Haley has a degree in Gender & Sexuality Studies with a Focus in Business and Entrepreneurship from Brown University. Haley Hoffman Smith is on a mission to help more women turn ideas and visions into achievable goals. She is a regular keynote speaker who recently spoke at Harvard, Yale, and Microsoft about empowering female entrepreneurs. She is the author of Her Big Idea: The Next Generation of Entrepreneurs and also the CEO of an eyelash startup company, Her Big Lash.

John Bryk

Dr. John Bryk is in his first year teaching mathematics and computer science at Miss Porter's. He earned his bachelor's degree at Williams College and his doctorate in mathematics at Rutgers University. After holding a professorship at John Jay College in New York for the better part of a decade, he decided to switch to teaching high school three years ago and hasn't looked back since. Ever eager to expand his horizons, he devoted himself to learning about blockchain this fall and will be teaching a course on the technology next year.
