In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Tan Eng Tong is the co-founder and CEO of Cytron Technologies. He started his roboic journey in 2003 with a team of aspiring undergraduates who represented their university in a roboic compeiion, which in turn sparked their passion and entrepreneurial spirits. Established in late 2004, Cytron developed various kinds of training kits, development boards, electronics modules to facilitate makers, researchers and engineers in their roboic related projects. In hope of inspiring and nurturing younger generaions into technology leaders, Eng Tong then lead the team to develop a kid’s friendly roboic kit, rero, that was launched in early 2015 as ASEAN's irst educaional roboic kit. rero, a roboic kit that allows everyone to build their own robot.
