Amidst this darkness, your self-belief alone is your North Star,

You are INVICTUS.

Our theme ‘Invictus’, inspired by William Ernest Henley’s poem, celebrates the resilient spirit of humans that lies within us as our hidden and unconquerable strength. In a world that cares nothing for us and often seems to be trying to torpedo our life goals, we all have the ability to overcome all odds and be victorious because we are the sailors of our own ships.
TEDxYouth@MLZSAmritsar endeavors to not only spotlight but glorify such invincible heroes present among us.
It’s time to dig deep down those ‘great ideas’ and discover that dauntless, indefatigable human spirit, and letting the acquiescence of despair come to an end.

Anmol Rodriguez

Social Activist

Anmol Roderiguez, originally named as Shabbo Sheikh,( born on 17 November 1994) is a social activist, social influencer, TEDx Speaker from Mumbai and a brave acid attack survivor. She started her NGO Sahas Foundation in 2017, to help other acid attack survivors in their rehabilitation. She was actively participating in social activities like fashion shows and social campaigns. She shared the stage with former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen and other celebrities. Recently she is the part of a social campaign of Kotak Mahindra Bank along with Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh

Dr Jaideep Kumar Sharma

Radiologist

Dr. Jaideep Kumar Sharma is a Radiologist in DLF Phase II, Gurgaon and has an experience of 32 years in this field. Dr. Jaideep Kumar Sharma. He completed MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 1987 and MD - Radio Diagnosis/Radiology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 1991. He is a member of Medical Council of India (MCI).

Garv is a brilliant student with a passion for swimming and oudoor sports. He studies in grade 7 and is an excellent orator.

Jinal Shah

Jinal Shah has been trained under and worked with Rujuta Diwekar as a diet and exercise consultant. In her short career, she has worked with a diverse set of clients from all walks of life, of all age groups and varying fitness levels, and plans diet and workout routines for them. She has also been speaking at various forums on topics related to health and nutrition.

Major Mohommed Ali Shah

Actor and former soldier

Major Mohommed Ali Shah is an Indian theatre personality and film actor. A former soldier, he is a member of the board of the International Film and Entertainment Festival of Australia where he has also won two awards.

Dr Manoj Dora is currently the Director of Large Collaborative Projects and Outreach at Brunel Business School. He has several years of experience in teaching, research and consultancy worldwide.

Journalist and author

Nandita Puri has spent all her life as a renowned Journalist and Author. She has authored a collection of short stories- Nine on Nine: her debut novel- Two Worlds and has also written screenplays for commercial as well as non-commercial films. She is also an actress and writer, well known for Mera Dil Leke Dekho(2006), Madhoshi(2004) and Byomkesh Bakshi(1993).

Rajeev Varshney

Genomicist

Rajeev Kumar Varshney is a geneticist or genomicist with more than 20 years of research experience in the area of international agriculture. He is currently working as global Research Program Director–Genetic Gains that includes several units viz. Genebank, Pre-Breeding, Cell, Molecular Biology & Genetic Engineering, Genomics & Trait Discovery, Forward Breeding, Seed Systems and Biotechnology- ESA at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Patancheru, India. He is Founding Director for the Center of Excellence in Genomics at ICRISAT and a Winthrop Research Professor with The University of Western Australia

Sasha Grewal together launched Outhouse in 2012. Guided by a sophisticated yet dramatic sensibility, she combines unique elements with inventive design to create their collections. Sasha developed a love for jewellery at a young age, and grew up to pursue the same with degrees in jewellery design and manufacturing from the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery. After working as head designer at a design house, Sasha went on to join high street fashion brand, Topshop in London.

Shovana Narayan is a famous and recognized Indian Kathak dancer. She is taken by the youth of today as pioneer and a role model in successfully combining two parallel careers with success and dignity. She performs in India and around the world, and has been awarded the Padma Shri.

A wife, a mother but an individual and so she walks to the beats of her own drum. She wants to be a role model for her child as well as people around her.
