Theme: Mix It Up

The theme for the event is, “Mix It Up,” a message celebrating and encouraging diversity and creativity. You’ll hear from speakers about learning coping methods, getting more out of your community service, taking a break from social media, finding balance in your life, learning to speak where others can understand you, using differences as strengths, finding creative ways to combat climate change, and learning to find meaning in life’s nuances.

As a senior in high school, Christa Westheimer experienced the negative effects of social media addiction firsthand. In an effort to create proactive changes in her own life, Christa decided to find ways to become less reliant on her peers, likes, and device. In doing so, she uncovered a one-step solution that has changed the way that she has used social media for the better. Now, she is confident that her social media usage can allow her to make real, positive changes in her surrounding community… and she believes that everyone can make the exact same change in their own lives in order to encounter similar results.

Drew Ford is a senior at Clear Brook High School. She is the current President of Clear Brook's theater program, the Clear Brook Players, and works as a Student Leader and a regular volunteer at her church. She is a hopeful poet and aspiring social worker. She is also the survivor of her own suicide attempt.
