Maayan's talk centers around the topic of cultural education given to doctors. Due to the generalization of the medications and diagnoses, care given to each patient is largely being traded for quick fixes. Small things create big differences in our lives. Winter shares her experiences starting a shoe drive at her school, which later evolved into her bringing a branch of the Souls4Soles nonprofit organization to her town and going to Ecuador to see the impact donated shoes can have. Something so simple as a pair of shoes can impact the world in tremendous ways. With the help of nonprofit organizations, like Soles4Souls, that change is easy and just requires a simple closet clean-out.
