Today's teens are all programmed to look at the future as the next step to something big. The three young speakers speaking at Pope High School's TEDx event have crafted talks meant to leave a lasting impact on attendees, encouraging them to see the future as the now.

Speakers

Speakers may not be confirmed. Check event website for more information.

Kelly Gago

Student
In a world where social media controls all, Kelly Gago explores the harmful effects of social media on productivity levels and how picking up new hobbies outside of the glass screen can have positive long-term effects.

Maayan Lantzman

Student
Maayan's talk centers around the topic of cultural education given to doctors. Due to the generalization of the medications and diagnoses, care given to each patient is largely being traded for quick fixes. She hopes to inspire future doctors to bring the individualistic nature of treatment back to the field of medicine.

Winter Lytle

Student
Small things create big differences in our lives. Winter shares her experiences starting a shoe drive at her school, which later evolved into her bringing a branch of the Souls4Soles nonprofit organization to her town and going to Ecuador to see the impact donated shoes can have. Something so simple as a pair of shoes can impact the world in tremendous ways. With the help of nonprofit organizations, like Soles4Souls, that change is easy and just requires a simple closet clean-out. In her talk, Winter tells her story with Soles4Souls and shares thoughts on how one simple change can impact the world.
