Theme: our Brain: how you know where you are, and the best kind of sleep you can have

This event occurred on
September 10, 2018
Calgary, Alberta
Canada

TEDxCalgary Library Salons are back in September, after our summer break, with a universal topic to all of us: Your Brain.

Our most complex organ is full of mystery. For instance, have you ever wondered how you navigate or simply know where you are? Or, how you can remember where things are, and that you know how find them? Further, after a full day of navigating around your world, how beneficial is sleep? Is there a specific type of sleep that is better for us, and if so, is there a way we could use technology to enhance it?

Join us for a TED-Talk double header (followed by group conversations): 1) a talk that shows us how our brains map where we are and the objects in space around us; 2) a talk that both pin-points the best kind of sleep, and reveals a developing technology hoping to enhance that sleep for the benefits to our health, memory, and ability to learn!
