Jhanak Dance Group

Bollywood Fusion Dance Troop from Indiana University
Jhanak is an emerging Bollywood fusion dance team at Indiana University, Bloomington. We combine different Indian dance forms and add a modern touch. Our purpose is to learn new cultures, meet new people and create connections through a common language – dance. Essentially keeping the Indian spirit intact, we aim to spread cultural awareness and create a platform for budding dancers.

Kate Lamont

Performance Artist
Born in the UK, singer Kate Lamont had trouble embracing her Indiana roots until later in her career. But the heartland inevitably laid the groundwork for her songwriting and love of collaboration. She recorded 7 collaborative works as well as 2 solo albums during her tenure in the midwest, and spent a decade working in and building the Indianapolis arts and music community. Arriving in the Bay Area in 2012 with a folk foundation and a larger than life spirit of soul, Lamont’s sound was pushed even further. Kate’s writing style and work ethic is influenced by mentors like Sade, Prince, and Lauryn Hill: artists whose ability to bleed pure emotion set them apart as much as their sky high technical skills. Lamont’s vision of music as a unifying force continues to fuel songs about truth, empowerment, and vulnerability, with lyrics connecting the dots from personal experiences to the great social issues of our time.

Mariah Ivey

Performance Artist
By day, Ivey serves at Kheprw Institute as the 2018 Artist in residence, synergizing art and culture within community based initiatives such as food inequity, climate resilience, social entrepreneurship, and youth development. Most evenings and weekends she is the Lead Artist and MC of TribeSouL, a popular genre-bending hip-hop, soul, and spoken word collective. She is also the founder and host of local performing arts space, That Peace Open Mic.

Melissa Spitz

Instagram Photographer of the Year
Melissa Spitz is a working artist in Brooklyn, NY. She received her BFA from the University of Missouri - Columbia and her MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Spitz is the recipient of Magnum’s 2018 Inge Morath Award, given each year to a woman photographer under the age of 30 to support a long-term documentary project.

Molly Ford

Senior Director, Global Equality Programs @ Salesforce
Molly Ford is the Senior Director of Global Equality Programs at Salesforce, the World’s Most Innovative Company according to Forbes and one of Fortune’s Best Companies to Work for eight years in a row. In this role, she is responsible for shaping and sharing the company’s core value of Equality and evangelizing the Salesforce culture.

Tamika Catchings

Director of Player Programs & Franchise Development @ Pacers

Tapati Dutta

Public Health Policy Researcher
Tapati Dutta is a social scientist in community health with professional experience of 20 years in Indian nonprofits and their bilateral collaborators in Kenya, Uganda and South Africa.
