The second edition of TEDxGLIMGurgaon by Great Lakes Institute of Management Gurgaon is themed “Odyssey”, representing the journey that millions undergo each day, every year and at various stages in their lives. These journeys don’t always have a smooth path but they have something in common. A happy ending to their story. These stories of the journey that people come across every day are what we aim to present at this year’s TEDxGLIMGurgaon. Various personalities from different backgrounds, industries, and journeys. Odyssey, where the destination is defined by the journey to the pinnacle. It is a day full of action where speakers from diverse backgrounds will peal various layers of their thought process. The event will help people break their chains and think beyond the horizon. It will not only help the audience to excel in professional fronts but will also give them the zeal to stand up to every challenge that life throws at them. At TEDxGLIMGurgaon we have speakers from diverse backgrounds presenting inspiring talks that will motivate the attendees to take action & help change the world around them.

Co-founder of an NGO called Acid Survivors Saahas Foundation in 2016, Anmol was just 2 months old when few drops of acid scarred her for life. A popular Instagram celeb, she urges people to embrace themselves the way they are. Recently, she made her debut in a phenomenal short film “Aunty Ji” alongside Ms. Shabana Azmi.

Founder of TMSS- Thengamara Mohila Sabuj Sangha, a women-oriented leading Bangladeshi organization working for alleviation of poverty and empowerment of women. She is a scientist with a thesis in agricultural research. Currently, she is a full-time executive director of TMSS.

Nidhi Goyal

Stand-up Comedian

Founder and director of the non-profit organization- Rising Flame, Ms Nidhi Goyal is a disability rights and gender justice activist. Appointed to the global civil society advisory group of UN women’s Executive Director, she also sits on the advisory board of “Voice” a grant making facility by the Dutch Ministry. She is India’s first female disabled stand-up comedian artist and uses humor to challenge prevalent notions of disability.

Nishtha Dudeja

Miss Deaf Asia 2018

A multi-talented person as she is, Nishtha Dudeja, won the titles of Miss Deaf India 2018 and Miss Deaf Asia 2018. She is pursuing her M.A. Economics from Mithibai College, Mumbai. She has won many medals in Judo, has been an International Lawn Tennis player and has also represented India in Deaflympics – 2013, World Deaf Tennis Championship – 2015 and Deaflympics -2017.

Pratibha Jamwal

Lieutenant Commander Indian Navy

She ventured into open ocean sailing in 2014 and undertook the first cross peninsular voyage by an Indian woman from Goa to Port Blair. She was selected as part of the Indian Navy’s all women circumnavigation team in 2015. She was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 04 July 11, in the air traffic control cadre.

Umashankar Venkatesh

Educational Entrepreneur

Prof. Umashankar Venkatesh is an educational entrepreneur who has helped launch five Institutions of higher learning in India. With a Ph.D. in the area of Consumer Behavior, he promotes research by being a PhD supervisor for many universities besides being a reviewer of reputed journals viz. Vikalpa (IIM-A); Emerald Group Publishing etc. He has authored a book on Services Management among numerous other research publications to his credit.
