In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alice Zhu

Yiting is a senior from Shanghai QibaoDwight High School. She is an amateur writer/novelist/poet, whose works have appeared on several school publications and Medium. She believes in the power of storytelling and empathy. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, cooking and indie pop.

Cat Ho

Mr. Ho is a lifelong educator. She has 25 years of teaching experience in kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools and universities. She comes from Singapore, but has lived and worked in many big cities in China. She graduated from the Department of Economics, National University of Singapore, and graduated from UBC, British Columbia University, Canada. She firmly believes in all-round education and applies what she learns to practice. She has also created social services in every school where she teaches, encouraging teachers, students and parents to help children with autism.

Julie Zhang

Julie Zhang is a student from Shanghai QibaoDwight high school student. She is a big fan of various science fictions and a humanist who loves music. Medicine and disease are topics that she’s mainly interested in.

Lilly Zhou

Master of Social Anthropology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, under the guidance of Gordon Mathews, a well-known anthropologist, mainly focuses on gender, diet and globalization. The undergraduate graduated with excellent results from the International Education College of Shanghai Foreign Studies University, majoring in Chinese as a foreign language. During her university years, she went abroad to study linguistics and Pedagogy at California State University. Fluent in Chinese and English, Spanish as the second foreign language, a little knowledge of Japanese and Cantonese. She served as an assistant professor in the Department of Asian and Asian American Culture at California State University, as an intern head teacher in many famous international IB primary and secondary schools in Shanghai, and as an intern journalist in the ICS Finance and Economics section of SMG Shanghai Foreign Language Channel. She has a wide range of interests, such as reading, writing, landscape sketching, gouache painting, travel, food and ancient history. She is curious about the world and enthusiastic about the cause of education.

Lucia Huang

Lucia is a devoted IB student, who is obsessed with politics and human history. She has great passion for reading and maintains a strong reading habit.

Luna Xu

Luna Xu is a grade 10 student from Shanghai QibaoDwight high school student. She’s keen on reading fiction as well as watching animation in daily life. Also, she enjoys playing volleyball in school team. She’s always curious about future life.

Olivia Zhong

Olivia Zhong is a student from Shanghai QibaoDwight High School and interested in watching a variety of movies as well as reading world literature. She’s also keen on learning art, dedicating in painting and playing the piano.

Sherry Zhang

Sherry, a grade 10 student from Shanghai QibaoDwight High School. She always regards herself as an optimistic risk-taker. She’s not afraid of making mistakes in front of the public; in fact, she really enjoys expressing her ideas on the stage.

Tommy Chen

Tommy is a student from Shanghai QibaoDwight High School. He loves thinking about theories in life and reflecting the aspects to improve better tomorrow. Because of these daily thoughts, he has a steady motivation that drives him to know more about the world.

Yunfei Wang

Born in Shanghai, Wang Yunfei received his Bachelor's Degree in International Relations from Sun Yat-sen University. He went to Taiwan's top humanities and Social Sciences Institute to study for a master's degree in political science, won many scholarships, and published papers at Taiwan's Political Society. Then he went to London School of Political Economy to study for a master's degree in Philosophy and Public Policy. His main research interests are political and moral philosophy and social science philosophy. At the same time, his curiosity about human society has made him widely involved in social science. He served as assistant teacher and postgraduate representative of the Department of Political Science of the University of Political Science, and actively participated in various academic activities. He was honored by the Summer Philosophy School of China, Britain and the United States. In addition, he is keen on learning local culture, Cantonese, English and Shanghai can communicate fluently. In recognition of IB concept, he joined Qibao Dwight, hoping to help students become critical thinkers and multi-cultural citizens of the world through their academic ability, growth experience and integration of Chinese and Western educational concepts.
