In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Gayathri Prabhu

Recipient of the RK Narayan award for her work in the literary field, author of three novels and the memoir 'If I Had To Tell It Again', Gayatri Prabhu has a doctorate in English from the University of Nebraska and is currently teaches Literary Studies at Manipal Centre for Humanities. She has championed the cause of mental health among the youth by initiating the Student Support Centre at Manipal.

Srikaanth Vishwanathan

Mr Srikaanth Viswanathan, a 47-year-old man driven by his dreams set a world record when he successfully completed a challenging 14-hour swim across the English Channel. Having battled cramps, jellyfish and the chilling cold weather he became the oldest in the country to achieve this Herculean feat!
