Theme: Creativity with Diversity

The Visconde de Porto Seguro school, aware of the global issues we all face and the important need to foster learning spaces, has promoted actions that involve the participation of children and young people who seek answers and present ideas for a better world
In continuity to these purposes, we will hold the 3rd TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, with the students of the 6th year of elementary school II.
This third edition will be based in the Valinhos campus with the theme: "Creativity and Diversity", fruit of the context of constant changes in the social, political, cultural, and ethnic perceptions of contemporary society. Interested students should develop their presentations on the subject.

Alice Carvalho Ladeira

Alice is a 5th grade student at Colégio Visconde de Porto Seguro. She likes to spend time with her family, talk to her friends, travel, read and do new things. Her favorite pass-times are theater, aerial silks and gastronomy. She has noticed that people spend an enormous amount of time on their cell phones. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Alice will explore if there is a way to end cell phone addiction.

Exploring this topic, he will talk at TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool about the barriers to human diversity in the labor market.

Henrique is 11 years old and has been a student at Colégio Porto Seguro for 9 years. He really likes sports activities such as basketball, tennis and handball. In his free time, he enjoys running with his dog Nike and playing in the garden with his sister Larissa. One of his great interests is to discover new places. During school holidays he enjoys traveling with his family and learning about different cultures. Based on his interest in new cultures, he has become interested in the effects of meditation, an ancient technique that has brought concrete benefits to people around the world. Knowing about the benefits that meditation has provided to schools in several countries, Henrique decided to share this information with students and teachers and propose the idea of introducing meditation in the school setting.

I love to play, run and jump. I love studying! I chose the theme of child labor because as a child I like to put myself in the shoes of others, and one day I imagined myself in the position of poor children who have to work day in day out. I think this is very unfair because children's only duties should be studying and playing. We can worry about other things when we are adults! At home, our housekeeper always tells me stories about her life. One of them is that she started working when she was only 5 years old. She worked in a large house so the older she became the more she had to work. This is what her life used to be like. But today she is respected by my family and by many around her!

I'm going to talk about microplastics, an issue that is gaining prominence in newspapers and in the news. Besides studying, I play a musical instrument, the transverse flute. I play in the school orchestra. When I play, I feel very good, happy, relaxed and joyful. I experience the same when I practice sports and I love it. I practice Kong Fu and participate in competitions.
