In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Carol Sevy

My name is Carol Cannon Sevy. I have been working in the world of horses, gymnastics, dance, marketing and music since I was 8 years old, when I would sell pony rides in my neighborhood. This continued on into my adult life of training horses, teaching riding, teaching piano/ violin/fiddle and gymnastic lessons. One of Emily’s greatest passions is the worst fear of others her age; and no, it doesn’t involve spiders. The love she has for public speaking has been fueled by her involvement with the Distinguished Young Women Program and her school’s Speech and Debate team. Although, Emily is certainly on the younger end of the TEDx speakers, she sees this youthfulness as an advantage; especially when it comes to her other hobbies such as snowboarding, hiking, and running cross country.

Jennifer Saunders is a soul who embraces life, loves BIG, dreams BIG and plays BIG. She also happens to own B.I.G., Buttin Gear, which is the company she created in 2004 as a platform to live out her dreams. Buttin Gear hosts running events as well as being the springboard to mentoring/coaching, adventuring and serving. Jennifer is also co-creator of Infinity Speaking, assisting speakers to make greater impact, get more referrals and stay booked…even before they take the stage. Did we mention, she is also the podcast host for Living Courageously Exposed.

Layne Kertamus

As a result of his family being impacted by autism, Layne Kertamus started Asperian Nation, to provide consulting to companies on the business benefits of becoming a neurodiverse workplace. His neurodiverse business strategies bring a unique perspective to courageous organizations that want to accelerate workplace wellness, and performance. Of his work Layne says, “greater neurodiversity makes it safe for all employees to contribute while increasing the enterprise’s adaptive capacity to cope with an uncertain environment.” As an executive he has led multifunctional teams and profit centers in the insurance and enterprise risk management arena.
