In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Abhishek Pratap Singh

Abhishek Pratap Singh is the first person from Dhanbad to get into the field of Fashion and the first person from Dhanbad to join National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi. After completing Fashion Designing in 1999 and Accessory Designing in 2003, Abhishek have been associated with various Rural Handicrafts related projects throughout India. Being impanelled with Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, he has been instrumental in developing numerous craft clusters in India. After 2001 earthquake in Kutch, Gujarat, he was part of the core group of NIFT Delhi and CARE World who under took a massive project titled “RehabilitationofLocalCraftCommunity”, which played a huge role in rehabilitating the craft artisans of sixteen villages in Kutch. Having done almost 70 National Level Craft Projects with various Central and State Government Agencies, he is one of the pioneers of Indian Handicrafts, especially languishing crafts(languishing crafts are those crafts which are either dead or almost on the verge of extinction). Currently settled in Dhanbad, he has been working with various tribes in Jharkhand since 2007, but since 2012 he has completely focused himself on the tribal craft of Jharkhand. Currently, he is working with a languishing Primitive Tribe called Sabar in Jharkhand and have been trying to revive their age-old craft practices. He has been associated with various institutes like National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), inter National Institute of Fashion Design (iNIFD), International Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT), Women Polytechnic, etc. in the capacity of visiting faculty.

Deepak Kumar

Deepak Kumar, the founder of Pehal Foundation, who himself has suffered immensely as a child to gain proper education, Growing up in a village and not being exposed to quality education has always left a void in his heart. Later on in life, he found a decent educational platform for himself where he managed to complete his education with flying colors. This marked as a starting point for him to do something for children who were dealing with the same issue. Deepak started off his journey of life struggling for his own education and now he is struggling for the innocent underprivileged children who deserve as much as any other child does. Though the scenario is changing with a lot of rising NGOs trying to break this disparity, Pehal Foundation, an NGO based in Dhanbad is trying its best to reach out to more and more villages in and around Jharkhand, spreading awareness about literacy and providing the underprivileged children with the same.

Dev Kumar Verma

Dev Kr Verma, A son of Coal Miner & Deputy Manager in Coal India with 10 years of experience in Coal mining. He is the Founder of Pathshala - A free Digital Education for Underprivileged Coal Pickers. He is the third generation of his family who is serving Coal India and Spending his entire Salary for the betterment of Coal Pickers family by educating them. He was honored by "Heroes of India" during Independence Day Celebration at Republic TV and a part of Exclusive Interview with Arnab Goswami. Pathshala Story is featured in Many reputed TV Show, Newspapers, Educational Magazine and Online Portal Such as; The Logical Indian, The better India, The Telegraph, India-times, wovvgly, Hindustan Times, Dainik Jagran, Dainik Bhaskar & Prabhatkhabar.

Rashmi Saha

Ms. Rashmi Saha is a civil engineering graduate, passed out in the year 2008. She not only chose a challenging path for herself but the journey too had been interesting. She started her career as a site engineer in Delhi. From there she served as Structural Design Engineer for a Multinational company in Mumbai and worked on designing of Major structure (bridges ) followed by another profile in estimation /tendering with Shriram group in Gurgaon. It's after all these varied experiences she decided to work for something more impactful and soul-satisfying and got into Training. Starting from various skill development projects by NSDC and PMKVY, she has worked for various corporates like Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Coal India Limited, Hindustan Zinc Limited Arvind Lifestyle etc and more 20 Colleges, Training & Motivating more than 20,000 souls in last 3 years, all across India. Continuing her journey of spreading knowledge, she formed an NGO in name of Mukty Mission in December 2017 and had been working on spreading awareness on Menstrual Hygiene and other social issues for the upliftment of women and children in the rural parts of Jharkhand. Apart from this, she is a Poet, Photographer and Video Blogger(Travel &Food) and terms herself as a learner in the school of life.

Ravi Ranjan

Ravi is Founder of “Starting up with Ravi Ranjan” - A high growth Advisory Firm to support Government,Academia, Enterprises & Entrepreneurs. Ravi is Ex- NASSCOM, Ex- Indian Angel Network & an Alumni of The Prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), a premier professional exchange program by U.S. Govt. Department of States. Ravi has been working closely with Indian Startup Ecosystem for over 10 Years and have established himself as a Startup Expert, Influencer, Entrepreneurship Evangelist and Ecosystem Enabler. Coming from a small village in Jharkhand India, his humble background helped him witness Multiple Geopolitical challenges first hand which inspired him to study Journalism and Communication. Ravi started his career as a Journalist & went on to join the Indian Entrepreneurship Ecosystem to help Start-ups solve problems. His expertise lies across sectors such as Entrepreneurship, Angel Investment, Venture Capital, Early stage ventures, Government Relations, Global Startup Ecosystem, Business Incubator, Operations, Events and Media. He is a regular Speaker at Top Technology and Management Institutes in India such as IIT, IIM and others and also a regular Speaker and Expert at Startup Events across India. A connector, mentor and keen observer of the ever shifting and metamorphosing Startup Ecosystem, Society, Business and Government space, Ravi has spotted social disruptions and changes while evaluating risks and economic rewards for enterprises. Ravi in his previous role was working with NASSCOM 10000 Startups which is one of the largest program in the world to promote Entrepreneurship. Ravi is also a Digital Nomad and runs a Travel and Food Blog “One Meal Per Mile” to Inspire people to explore the world while building their Enterprise.

Shadab Hassan

S. Shadab Hassan is the Founder Director of Hamid Hassan High School (H. H. High School), Brambe (Jharkhand, India), a school that provides free education to the orphan and underprivileged children. Apart from being a TEDx speaker, he has also been invited as a distinguished speaker in the country’s most premier platforms such as Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rotary, Movement for Efficiency and Transparency etc. He was also awarded with ‘Yuva Prabodhan-2012’ by the former president of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam during the launch of What Can I Give Mission’ in 2012. He represented his state Jharkhand as a speaker in the International Youth NGO Summit 2015. Shadab and his story was one of the 25 chosen stories to be published in the book ‘Incredible Champions’ by N.Chandrasekaran in 2014. His story has also been covered in ‘The Underage CEO’s’, a book on inspirational stories of student entrepreneurs in India by Ganesh V which was released in 2015. His work has also featured in the Christian Science Monitor, US and Canada. Shadab was awarded the National Digital Trailblazer Award for his work in the field of Digital Rural Literacy and pioneering LIVE online classes in the State of Jharkhand during the HP – India Today National Digital India Conclave-2016, Delhi. Having worked in the area of education in rural India for more than 8 years now, Shadab has always tried to integrate technology in every possible way to make the process of imparting education all the more effective and use it as a medium of social change.

Shikha Nag is a founder and director of Indian Academy of Public Speaking. She has corporate work experience across hospitality, tours, and travels, education, training, and exhibitions industry. The stage has been her first love which she expresses through her efforts in Indian Academy of Public Speaking, corporate presentations & anchoring, corporate training, motivational speeches, personality & image development. She is an Internationally Certified Image Consultant from ICBI & Conselle Institute of Image Management, USA. She is currently the Chapter President of Image Management Professional Association, Bangalore. She is certified in soft skills training by the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA), train the trainer certification from the National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET), & Mrs. India-World 2016, 2nd Runners-up

Shruti Jaiswal

Shruti Jaiswal brings with her 16+ years of experience, working with people as an HR professional. She is currently working as Director - Talent & Development, at Thomson Reuters and is also the sponsor of their Women’s Network at Bangalore. Shruti has worked with many multinationals prior to this, Intel, Tata, Aircent Communications and Genpact to name a few. Shruti is a Neuroscience certified Coach and holds various other certifications in the field of Talent & Development.
