In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Flavia Agnes

Flavia Agnes is an Indian women's rights lawyer with expertise in marital, divorce and property law. She has written and published numerous books and articles, some of which have appeared in eminent journals, and have also been translated in several languages. She has been a practicing lawyer at the Mumbai High Court since 1988. Her own experience with domestic violence inspired her to become a women's rights lawyer. She also advises the government on law implementation and currently advises the Ministry of Women and Child Development in Maharashtra. Along with Madhushree Dutta, Agnes is the co-founder of MAJLIS, "a legal and cultural resource center" that campaigns for and provides legal representation for women on issues of matrimonial rights, child custody, etc.

Kapil Dev

Kapil Dev (Kapil Dev Ram Lal Nikhanj in full) is a former Indian cricketer who captained the Indian cricket team to victory in the 1983 Cricket World Cup. He was one of the greatest all-rounders to have played the game. He was named by Wisden as the Indian Cricketer of the Century in 2002 and was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2010. He has also been honored with the Indian civilian award of Padma Bhushan.

Along with this, she is a Trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, which is committed to the process of nation-building by driving transformational leadership through education. She is also the Chairperson and driving force behind VidyaGyan, a leadership academy for the meritorious but economically underprivileged, rural students of Uttar Pradesh. Roshni is also the Founder & Trustee of The Habitats Trust, a foundation working towards protecting habitats and their indigenous species. Shoma Chaudhury

Shome Chaudhury, co-founder and director of Algebra – the Arts & Ideas Club, is an award-winning journalist, editor, and political commentator. In 2011, Newsweek in the US picked her as one of 150 power women “who shake the world”. Shoma has been the managing editor and one of the founders of Tehelka, an investigative public interest newsmagazine, where she also wrote and reported extensively on the nature of Indian democracy and governance. She also founded and was the editor-in-chief of CatchNews, a digital newsplatform. Shoma also co-founded and was director of THiNK, a cutting-edge conference of ideas, where she hosted and interviewed people like Robert De Niro, Shahrukh Khan, Arvind Kejriwal, Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev, the former chiefs of the CIA and Mossad and the Taliban together on the same platform along with a galaxy of activists, artists, corporate czars, entrepreneurs, farmers, dalits, tribals, and politicians.

Sohail Hashmi

Mr. Sohail Hashmi, an academician, historian and a filmmaker is well-known for vividly reconstructing the glorious past of the city through the immersive heritage walks that he conducts around the capital. He has cleverly captured the interest of children by curating the walks to especially pique their curiosities. Narrations of his lived experiences, which are interestingly inextricable from the city’s history, leave everyone craving for more.

Vasu Primlani

Vasu Primlani is an Indian stand-up comedian and environmentalist. She received the 2015 Nari Shakti Puraskar from the Government of India for her work. Primlani grew up in New Delhi, India. She received a master's degree from UCLA in Geography, Urban Planning and Law. She is also a fitness enthusiasts having completed several marathons and triathlons. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Nari Shakti Puraskar award by the Government of India, the first comedian in India’s history to receive Presidential honors Currently based out of Delhi, she is also a somatic therapist. Primlani founded the non-profit Thimmakka’s Resources for Environmental Education in the United States which provides environmental consulting services for restaurants. She was also appointed an Ashoka Fellow for her work with restaurants. Primlani has produced, headlined in, and performed in hundreds of corporate and comedy club shows across the world, including in New York City, San Francisco, Mumbai, Dubai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Pune, and Delhi.

Yogesh Saini

Yogesh Saini, the founder of Delhi Street Art, is a creative entrepreneur with passionate interest in art, photography, design, writing and other similar endeavors. Having lived overseas for over 20 years and having worked with Fortune 500 companies, Saini has made Delhi his home again and has since felt a strong urge to make his city more lively and liveable again. He started Delhi Street Art with the goal to add more colour to Delhi’s open spaces, give local artists a creative outlet to express themselves, and to encourage citizens to keep their public spaces clean, while appreciating art.
