In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ahmed Khan

Ahmed was born and raised in the middle east for 19 years and decided it was time for a change, he moved to Waterloo, a tech hub to continue his own dream of making his startup, into the next big thing. He is currently studying Computer Science and Management at Wilfrid Laurier University

Alex Johnstone

Alex Johnstone is currently the Chair of the HWDSB and is serving her third term as a trustee. She is a passionate advocate for numerous global and local social justice causes.

Grant Doering

Grant is a second year Ph.D. student in the psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour department at McMaster University. He is currently working on the mechanistic underpinning and functional consequences of collective behavior in ants.

Joanna Aswani

Joanna Aswani is a theatrical actress,singer and director born in Hamilton, Ontario. She's the 3rd born of author Rosemary Aswani (Raindance) and professor Dr.Fred Aswani. She studied in the Acting Conservatory at York University and is currently pursuing a career in music. Some of her most notable works are her performances in " U T E N S I L" at Gladd Day Bookshop, "ShAIDs of Grey" at Hamilton Place, " FUFU Goodness" at Sous Bas Nightclub and as the assistant director for " NINE11" at Mohawk College. She is persistent in continuing her career in performance art and looks forward to her performances at Supercrawl and The Hamilton Arts Council Week this summer.

Nathan Fleet

Nathan Fleet is an award-winning musician, filmmaker and educator from Hamilton, Ontario. He runs Blue Pick Media, a company that produces film and audio projects, and the Hamilton Film Festival which has been running for fourteen years and is recognized worldwide. In the community Nathan is the chair of Lights Camera Hamilton and is a member of the Hamilton Music Advisory Team.
