Theme: Who belongs in a city?

This event occurred on
September 26, 2018
Greensboro, North Carolina
United States

Many Greensboro residents live with housing and employment insecurity, which leads them to a life on the streets of our city. Metro areas often struggle with fostering urban development without displacing those who are unable to relocate. Business owners may decry panhandling, but, with limited jobs available, it can be a necessary means of survival for our most vulnerable. Those who work downtown wonder if it is better to give money to someone for temporary alleviation, or to donate to an organization that supports those in need. As Greensboro struggles with these issues, please join us in viewing thought-provoking TED Talks followed by a moderated discussion.
